資源簡介 南開大學附屬中學 李璐教學設計文章標題: Chan finally wins Oscar教學材料: Teens Senior報紙期數: 2016-17學年第13期 高二授課年級: 高一年級整體設計思路 文章分析 本節課選自Teens高二年級2016-17學年第13期,是一堂閱讀和寫作相結合的課。該文以成龍獲得奧斯卡終身成就獎這則新聞為切入點,介紹了成龍取得的成就,又分別介紹了卓別林和宮崎駿這兩位著名的奧斯卡終身成就獎獲得者,使學生分別從國籍、獲獎年齡、專業領域、成就等方面進一步了解這三位著名的電影人。該文本呈現出了重點詞匯、句型、語法和語言功能。學生學會運用所學知識介紹一個名人。將中外名人在藝術等領域進行對比,增強學生的國際交往意識,最后以Task的輸出來展示學習成果。 本文屬于說明文體。文章結構清晰,以人物介紹為主線,分別介紹了三位曾經獲得過奧斯卡終身成就獎的人物,但是對于卓別林和宮崎駿的描述,文本信息欠豐富,學生很難體會到他們對于電影事業的貢獻。因此,需要學生利用多種渠道來獲取信息,體會他們的偉大,拓寬國際視野。 通過對文章的分析,我們認為作者希望利用本文引發讀者的思考究竟如何描述一個名人,并將中外藝術家在專業領域方面進行對比,增強跨文化交流意識。 學情分析 高一的學生在高中英語教材中剛剛學習過如何介紹中外著名的音樂家和畫家,因此,他們對人物介紹并不陌生,也會使用一些簡單的詞匯和表達方式。此外,成龍獲得奧斯卡終身成就獎這則新聞學生們在各大媒體上了解到了,這便于他們理解課文中的內容。隨著中國藝術家們在世界上獲得的榮譽越來越多,他們也渴望了解更多關于中國藝術家們的信息。文本的長短和語言難度適中,不會給學生的閱讀造成障礙,所以他們應該會對本節課的學習內容感興趣。 教學亮點 本節課的亮點是對學生寫作能力的培養。教學活動的設計是“以讀帶寫”,在寫作教學中,提供簡單信息,結合閱讀所輸入的詞匯和句型等語言知識,引領學生進行Group Writing,描寫兩位中國的諾貝爾獎獲得者,同時為學生提供優秀作文寫作標準,作為同學間互相評價修改的標準。這些教學活動充分體現了師生和生生之間的多元互動。 另一個亮點是對學生批判性思維的培養。在Evaluation反饋矯正這一環節中,一方面引導學生對同學作文進行評價,進一步強化優秀作文的標準,另一方面幫助學生矯正自己在學習過程中出現的語言知識錯誤及不良行為和習慣,自我修正,不斷提升。 教學目標 By the end of this period, students will be able to tell why Jackie Chan, Charlie Chaplin and Hayao Miyazaki won the Academy Honorary Award; write a passage about some Chinese who won the Noble Prize; evaluate other's compositions. 教學重難點 1. Read the passage to get the information of three artists and how to introduce an artist; 2. Develop thinking ability, especially critical thinking; 3. Enhance the enjoyment and the understanding of their own and other cultures through activities. 四、教學過程 Step 1 Lead-in (Motivation) (3 minutes) T: Enable Ss to analyze what they have known from the title given. Show Ss a short video clip about Jackie Chan’s acceptance speech. S: Enjoy the video clip and think about the question asked. Purposes: To generate Ss’ learning motivation by arousing their interest; To introduce the topic. Step 2 Reading (Action) Activity 1 Brainstorming. (Pre-reading) (1minute) T: Enable Ss to tell what they would learn about Jackie Chan from the passage. S: Think about the question and express their views freely. Purposes: To encourage Ss to think critically and get ready for the reading. Activity 2 Answer the questions. (Pre-reading) (3 minute) T: Present the questions. S: Read the passage quickly and answer the questions. Purposes: To help Ss skim the passage to get the general information. Activity 3 Fill in the chart. (While-reading) (12 minutes) T: Enable Ss to read the passage and finish the chart below. S: Read introductions of three artists and get specific information about them, then check the answers with other group members. Winners of the Academy Honorary Award Purposes: To train Ss’ reading skills and strategies by getting them to finish the chart about the three artists through skimming, scanning. To help Ss form the teamwork spirit by group checking and sharing ideas. Activity 4 Summarize the passage. (Post-reading) (8 minutes) T: Enable Ss to introduce one of the artists learnt in pairs and show them an example of writing: name,age, nationality, job,type, achievements, comments ... S: Figure out the necessary information when introducing an artist. Purposes: To guide Ss to master the key words, sentences and necessary information to introduce an artist and be ready to use them in their presentation. Step 3 Writing (Action& Evaluation) (8 minutes) Activity 5 Writing Time T: Enable Ss to write a Chinese scientist who won the Noble Prize. S: Group work and express their views. Purposes: To get Ss to apply learning outcomes adequately in a defined context. To get Ss to communicate their thoughts and feelings and express their own views about their hometown or a city based on critical thinking and their own knowledge. Step 4 Presentation (Action & Evaluation) (8 minutes) Activity 6 Show Time Choose 2-3 good writers to share their writings in class. Standards of a good writing: Is the handwriting clear and good Are you clear about the person who is written about Are there any good connecting words or phrases Are there any good phrases or sentences Are there any spelling or grammatical mistakes Purposes: To offer Ss a chance to present their good writings to the whole class. To offer Ss a chance to enjoy good writings and to be clear about the standard of a good writing. To train Ss to evaluate the writing according to the standard. To train Ss to be good presenters and good audiences. Step 5 Summary & Homework (2 minutes) Summary of writing 2. Homework: Surf the internet to collect more information about the great people you have described. Finish and polish your compositions. 3. Summary of the class: After reading the text and introducing a GREAT people, Ss should be inspired to be GREAT learners. “Gain knowledge and experience. Read more books.
