We can add the suffix -er, -or or -ist to certain words to create nouns that describe people who do a specific job or activity.
Noun/Verb + Suffix Noun
print -er printer
invent -or inventor
tour -ist tourist
The suffixes -er, -or or -ist
-er is common for many verbs
-or is often used after verbs ending with -ct, -t etc.
-ist is for some related to art, science, etc.
