1. Let me introduce you to my cousin, Brian. 讓我把我介紹給我的堂弟布萊恩。
（1）introduce意為“介紹；引進”，是動詞，常用于“introduce…to sb.”結構，意為“向……介紹……”
Jack introduced me to Lucy. 莉莉把我介紹給了露西。
（2）introduce的名詞形式是introduction，意為“引進；介紹”。
The introduction of the new technology made the country develop fast.
新科技的引進使這個國家發展得很快。
Language points
2. It’s similar to Grade 7. （八年級）和七年級類似。
（1）similar是形容詞，意為“類似的；相像的”，常作定語或表語。
The two sounds are very similar. 這兩種聲音十分相似。
（2）be similar to意為“和……相似”。
Her dress is similar to yours. 她的連衣裙和你的很像。
3. We have a new subject this term—physics.
這學期我們有一門新的課程——物理。
（1）physics是不可數名詞，意為“物理；物理學”，作主語時謂語動詞用單數形式。
Physics is my favourite subject. 物理是我最喜歡的學科。
（2）physical意為“物理的；身體的”，physical education =PE 體育。

consider是動詞，意為“考慮；認為”，常用結構有：
·consider doing sth. 考慮做某事
·consider…to be/as… 把……看作……
They are considering moving to a new house. 他們正在考慮搬新家。
I consider my dog as part of my family. 我把我的狗是為家庭的一部分。
5. I do know that every job requires hard work. 我知道每一份工作都需要努力。
require是動詞，意為“需要；要求”，常用結構有：
·require (doing) sth. 需要(做)某事
·require sb. to do sth. 要求某人做某事
This job requires patience and skills. 這份工作需要耐心和技能。
Mum requires me to come back earlier. 媽媽要求我早點兒回來。
