Problem
Solution
Old lamps were dim, dangerous, and didn't last long. People wanted better light at night.
Edison sent electricity through a thin thread.
His bulb stayed bright for 14 hours.
Materials
A glass bulb, thin bamboo thread, and metal wires.
How it Works
Electricity makes the thread hot.
The hot thread glows brightly in the empty bulb.
