1. 用于請求別人做某事（提出請求）
句型與回答
常用句型 Can/ Could you ( please ) do sth.
肯定答語 OK./Certainly./Of course./With pleasure./
No problem./Yes, sure.等
否定答語 Sorry, I can’t. I have to…/I’m afraid not./ I’m afraid I can’t. I am going to…等
2. 用于請求別人允許自己做某事（請求允許）
常用句型 Can/ Could I do sth.
肯定答語 Yes, you can./Certainly./Yes, please.等
否定答語 Sorry, you can’t./I’m afraid you can’t.等
注意
回答時：在回答用could 提出的請求時，通常不用 could而用 can。
例如：
— Could I have a look at your book
— Yes, you can.(不能用Yes, you could.)
— Sorry, you can’t.(不能用Sorry, you couldn’t.)
注意
使用 could只是讓請求更禮貌，但仍要注意說話時的語氣和態度，面帶微笑、語調溫和會讓你的請求更易被接受。
例如：Could I stay up a little later to finish this movie
我可以晚點睡把這部電影看完嗎？
肯定回答：Yes, you can. But don't stay up too late.可以，但別熬太晚。
否定回答：No, you can't. You have to get up early tomorrow.不行，你明天得早起。

情態動詞 can / could
情態動詞can和could都可用于表示能力、請求允許和給予許可，以及提出請求和建議。
1. 表示能力
例如：Can you speak English 你會說英語嗎？
He could sing very well when he was young. 他年輕的時候歌唱得很好。
When I was five, I could swim like a fish. 我五歲時游泳游得像條魚一樣好。（could 是can的過去式）
補充內容
2.提出建議
對平級或晚輩可用 can，快速給出建議；
對上級、長輩或需要體現禮貌時用 could，避免顯得生硬。
We can eat in a restaurant this evening. 今晚我們可以在餐館吃飯。
用 can 提出直接建議（常用于口語，語氣較隨意）
Maybe I could give you a lift to the supermarket. 也許我可以讓你搭我的車去超市。
