The Mid-Autumn Festival dates back more than two thousand years.(1) date back 意為“始于;追溯到”,后面通常會接一個表示時間的名詞或短語,說明事物或概念追溯到何時。與date from 意思相近。e.g. The custom dates back hundreds of years.這一習俗可以追溯到幾百年前。Many of the buildings in this city date back to the 19th century.這座城市的許多建筑可以追溯到19世紀。These Chinese characters dated from the Qin Dynasty.這些漢字始于秦代。date 的一詞多義:① n. 日期,日子,為可數名詞 ② v. 注明日期;確定年代e.g. What’s the date today 今天是幾號?Please date your homework. 請在作業上注明日期。(2) “thousand num. 一”,thousand 前有several或具體數詞時,thousand后不加-s,也不與of連用“thousand of 數以千計的”,后接名詞復數,其前不能加具體的數詞。與thousand用法類似的詞還有:hundred (一百)、million (百萬)、billion (十億)等。e.g. He won support from several thousand people.他贏得了數千人的支持。There are about five thousand books in the school library.學校圖書館里有大約五千本書。e.g. There is an evening light show with thousands of kites.晚上有成千上萬只風箏的燈光表演。3. It was to celebrate the harvest of the year.(1) 動詞不定式(短語)做表語,常表示目的、計劃、職責等內容。e.g. The most important thing is to have fun.最重要的是要玩得開心。His duty is to look after his little sister at home.他的職責是在家照顧他的妹妹。(2) celebrate 既可作及物動詞,也可作不及物動詞,意為“慶祝;慶賀”。后面可以直接跟節日、勝利、成功或類似性質的詞作賓語,不可接人,也不可接that 從句。常見搭配:① celebrate with 與……一起慶祝;② be celebrated for 因……而著名,相當于be famous for;③ celebrate by 通過……來慶祝相關詞形:celebration n. 慶祝;慶祝活動e.g. We will celebrate your birthday with a big party.我們將為你的生日舉辦一個盛大的派對。Venice is celebrated for its beautiful buildings.威尼斯以其美麗的建筑而聞名。The students celebrate their graduation by wearing the bachelor’s caps and gowns. 學生們通過穿戴學士帽和長袍來慶祝畢業。The family gathered for a celebration of their grandmother’s 90th birthday. 全家人聚在一起慶祝他們祖母的90 歲生日。4. On this day, my whole family always gets together.“whole adj. 全部的;整體的”,位于冠詞、物主代詞等限定詞后,即“限定詞+whole+名詞”“all adj. 所有的;全部的”,位于定冠詞the、物主代詞等限定詞之前,即“all+限定詞+名詞”e.g. All the students in our class study hard. We studied the whole day yesterday. 我們班所有的學生學習都很努力。我們昨天一整天都在學習。6. I would look up and try to find her on the moon while enjoying delicious mooncakes.(1) 結構分析:I ... moon 是主句,and連接兩個動詞短語;while引導省略了I was的時間狀語從句。注意:while引導的時間狀語從句時,后面用進行時態(2) look up 為動詞短語,意為“抬眼看;查找”。當look up 與代詞連用時,代詞應放在look 和up 之間。e.g. We looked up at the stars twinkling in the night sky.我們仰望夜空中閃爍的星星。Can you look up the opening time on the website 你可以在網站上查一下開放的時間嗎?常見的“look + 介詞或副詞”短語有:① look for 尋找 ② look over 檢查 ③ look forward to 期待;盼望 ④ look after 照顧;照料 ⑤ look through 瀏覽;翻閱 ⑥ look up and down 上下打量 ⑦ look out 當心;注意;向外張望 ⑧ look around 環顧四周e.g. Please look over your homework before you hand it in.在你交作業之前,請檢查一下。I am looking forward to the summer vacation.我期待著暑假。Can you look after my cat while I’m away 在我離開期間,你能幫我照看我的貓嗎?Look out! The car is coming. 當心!汽車來了。(3) “while conj. 當……的時候;然而”,用法總結:① 引導時間狀語從句,意為“當……的時候;在……期間”,表示兩個動作或事件同時發生。從句中的謂語動詞通常是延續性動詞,且從句可以放在句首或句末。e.g. While I was cooking dinner, the phone rang.當我在做晚飯的時候,電話響了。We must strike while the iron is hot.我們必須趁熱打鐵。② 表示對比關系,意為“而;然而”,用于連接兩個意義相反或相對比的句子。此時,while 連接的兩個句子是并列關系,但表達的內容形成對比。e.g. You like sports, while I prefer music. 你喜歡運動,而我更喜歡音樂。7.
