Dear Diary,
I'm back at school. After a long summer break, it was so nice to see my classmates again!
On Monday, I got up early, I met all my classmates at school. We talked, laughed, and shared stories about the fun things we did over the summer. Li Lin told us about her trip to Dalian. She bought many postcards for us. Wang Mei went to volunteer in a mountain village. Song Hua learned to play the guitar and went to a concert. It was amazing to hear all about their summer vacations.
During the gym class on Wednesday, we played football. My friend Jack and I were on the same team, and it felt great working together again. The game was super exciting. It was a tie game until the other team scored in the last minute. I felt a little sad about losing, but playing our best was still lots of fun!
Friday was special because we had our first physics class. Physics is a new subject for us, and our teacher showed us some cool experiments. I felt excited to learn more about the wonders of science.
Well, it's time for bed now. I'm looking forward to another fantastic week!

7. It was a tie game until the other team scored in the last minute.
(1) tie /ta / v. 系；捆綁；連接 ；n. 領(lǐng)帶；平局
作動詞時，常用：tie sth.（up） 系住某物；捆綁某物
tie...to... 把…… 系到…… 上
e.g. Tie your shoes tightly. 把你的鞋帶系緊。
He ties the dog to the tree. 他把狗拴到樹上。
e.g. He wears a red tie. 他系著一條紅領(lǐng)帶。
The game ends in a tie. 比賽以平局結(jié)束。
作名詞時，可表示 “領(lǐng)帶” 或比賽 “平局” ，在句中作主語、賓語等。
(2) until conj.& prep. 到……時；直到……為止
做連詞用法：① 用在肯定句中，此時主句的謂語是延續(xù)性動詞，表示主句的動作一直持續(xù)到從句動作發(fā)生才結(jié)束。
e.g. I’ll stay here until you come back. 我會待在這里，直到你回來。
② 用在否定句中，此時主句的謂語多為非延續(xù)性動詞，not...until...意為“直到……才……”，表示主句的動作在從句動作發(fā)生之后才開始。
e.g. You will never truly understand your parents’ great love until you grow up. 直到長大后你才會真正明白父母的愛
③ 做介詞：其后接表示時間的詞或短語。
e.g. Don't put off what you can do today until tomorrow. 今日事今日畢。
(3) ① score v. 得分
e.g. He scored three goals during the whole match.
在整場比賽中他三次進(jìn)球得分。
② score n. 得分，比分
英語中常用于詢問比分的句型：What's the score
答語：It’s+基數(shù)詞+to+基數(shù)詞.
e.g. How can you get such a high score
你怎么能得到如此高的分?jǐn)?shù)
(4) 長難句分析：這是一個主從復(fù)合句。主句為It was a tie game, until 作連詞，引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句the other team scored in the last minute。從句中主語為the other team, 謂語為scored, in the last minute 為時間狀語。
8. Physics is a new subject for us, and our teacher showed us some cool experiments.
experiment 作可數(shù)名詞，意為“實驗”。
常見短語：①do an experiment in 做某一方面的實驗； ② do an experiment on 在某個對象上做實驗； ③ do experiments with 意為使用某種方法、技術(shù)來做實驗。
e.g. Mr Wang is doing an experiment in physics.
王老師正在做一個物理實驗。
We can do an experiment on animals first.

They want to do an experiment with a new material.

wonder v. 想知道 相當(dāng)于：want to know
①后接 if/whether 引導(dǎo)的從句，意為“想知道是否…”，可用于禮貌地請求幫助。
e.g. I wonder whether you can help me to solve the problem.
我想知道你能否幫我解決這個問題
②后接 what、when、who、how 等引導(dǎo)的從句。
e.g. I wonder who you want to thank most. 我想知道你最想感謝誰。
③后接“特殊疑問詞+動詞不定式”結(jié)構(gòu)。
e.g. I wonder how to get there. 我想知道怎么去那里。
