一、過去分詞作表語
1、過去分詞作表語時, 與謂語動詞構成____
結構, 表示主語的性質、特征或 ______。
其前的系動詞包括be動詞、感官動詞等多
種形式。
例:
Everyone present is very inspired at his speech.
聽了他的發言,在場的所有人都很振奮。
You looked frightened.
你看起來很害怕。
He became interested in two theories.
他對兩種理論產生了興趣。

2、過去分詞作表語,構成的系表結構與被動
語態的區別:
過去分詞作表語,強調主語的特點或所處的狀態;
而被動語態中,主語是動詞所表示動作的承受者。
例2:The cup was broken by him.
The cup is broken.

3、有些動詞如interest, worry, surprise, frighten等通常用其過去分詞形式來說明人的情況,用動詞-ing形式來說明物的情況。
例1:The book is interesting and I’m interested in it.

text. All of us are excited about it.

二、過去分詞作狀語
1、過去分詞作狀語時,過去分詞表示被動
完成的動作,與主句主語之間是邏輯上
的動賓關系。
例1:
Given more attention, the tree can grow better.
如果多加注意,這棵樹會長得更好。
例2:
Asked what had happened, his face turned red.
當問到發生了什么事時,他的臉變紅了。
2、過去分詞作狀語,可以表示時間、原因、
條件、讓步、方式或伴隨情況等,相當
于一個狀語從句。
例:
Once published, his works became famous for the absence of rhyme at the end of each line.
(1) 時間狀語
Once it was published, his work became famous for the absence of rhyme at the end of each line.
例1:
Done in a hurry, his homework was full of mistake.
(2) 原因狀語
Since/As she was given advice by the famous detective, the young lady was no longer afraid.
例2:
Given advice by the famous detective, the young lady was no longer afraid.
Because it was done in a hurry, his
homework was full of mistake.
例:
Given more time, we will do better.
(3) 條件狀語
If we are given more time, we will do better.
(4) 讓步狀語
例:
Even if invited, I will not take part in the party.
Even if I am invited, I will not take part in the party.
例:
The old man walked in the park, supported by his wife.

3、現在分詞與過去分詞作狀語的區別
現在分詞作狀語時,現在分詞所表示的動作與句子
主語之間構成邏輯上的主謂關系。

過去分詞作狀語時,過去分詞所表示的動作與句
子主語之間構成邏輯上的動賓關系。

過去分詞所表示的動作發生在謂語動作之前,或
表示“一種狀態”。
