Know some information about places in the school
Millie is reading an introduction to the school library online. Read the article and analyse its structure.
Welcome to the library. It is a grey building with three floors. All the rooms here are clean and bright.
You will find lots of books on different subjects there—thousands of them, in fact! You can borrow three books at a time.
There is a reading room with computers on the top floor. You can read newspapers and magazines there. You can also use the internet to help you with your studies.
The library is the perfect place for you to enjoy a wonderful book and some quiet time!

1. You will find lots of books on different subjects there—thousands of them, in fact!
你會在那里找到許多不同主題的書——確切地說，有成千上萬冊呢！
(1) 本句中的thousands of them、in fact是補充說明的內容，補充說明的對象是books，本句用破折號引出補充說明的內容。
(2) 短語in fact意思是“確切地說”。
e.g. I live in this town; in fact, not far from your hometown.
我住在這個鎮上；確切地說，離你家鄉不遠。
此外，in fact還可以表示“事實上，實際上”。用以強調實際情況與剛剛提及的恰好相反。
e.g. I thought the question would be hard. In fact, it was very easy.

2. You can borrow three books at a time. 你可以一次借三本書。
短語at a time意思是“每次，逐一”。
e.g. I can only answer one question at a time.

句中的the top floor指的是頂層。對于樓層的表達，英美有差異。

Our school has lots of great places. I think it’s the perfect school. I love the gym. It’s big and bright. We get to play different sports there and my favourite is volleyball. The music room is great too. It has a piano. We often learn to sing beautiful songs there. It’s so much fun, but there’s more. Our school also has a nice computer room. There are fifty new computers in it. They are very helpful for our studies. We can use the computers for lots of things, but we can’t play games.
