注 意
請求別人允許自己做某事時， can 和could都可以用， 但是could的語氣更加委婉。
eg: Can / Could I put some flowers on the table
我可以把花放在桌子上嗎？
2. 對別人的請求許可的回答，一般只用can，而不用could。
eg: A: Mr Lake, can I use your toilet 萊克先生，我可以用你的廁所嗎？
B: Of course you can. 當然可以。

could 的其他用法如下：
(1)could 為 can 的過去式，表示能力。
eg: He could ride a bike at the age of five.
他五歲時就會騎自行車了。
(2)表示可能性，指對過去、現在或將來的某種可能的推測。
The book could be Lily’s because she likes reading books.
那本書可能是莉莉的，因為她喜歡看書。
(3)表示建議。
You could go there by bus.
你可以乘公共汽車去那兒。

1. Can I stay out until eleven 我可以在外面待到十一點嗎？
(1)（介詞）到……時；直到……為止后接具體的時間。
eg: She worked until 10 p.m. yesterday. 昨天她一直工作到晚上 10點。

eg: I waited until they finished talking. 我一直等到他們談完為止。

2. You and your classmates want to help clean up the community.
你和同學們想要幫助清掃社區。
clean up 清掃，是“動詞+副詞”型短語，當人稱代詞作賓語時，需要放在clean與up之間。
eg: The yard is full of rubbish. Let’s clean it up.
院子里到處是垃圾。我們來清掃一下吧。
