instead of代替……；而不是……
instead與instead of
兩者都有“代替”的含義，區別如下：
instead 副詞 常位于句首或句末，位于句首時常用逗號與后面的內容隔開。
instead of 短語介詞 位于句首或句中，后接名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式。

相當于though，引導讓步狀語從句。

【特別提醒】
在英語中,表示“雖然……但是……”時, although/though
不能和but在同一個句子中使用。
盡管這臺機器老舊了,但是它依然運行良好。

machine is old, but it still runs well.
