Matt: Friends should be alike.
Diana: Friends should be different.

I don’t really care if my friends are similar to or different from me. I have two amazing friends. Lily is funnier than anyone else I know. When I feel sad or have a problem, she makes me laugh and feel better. She helps me see the silver lining in difficult situations.
My other friend, Lucy, is not as funny as Lily. Lucy is quieter, but she listens better than others. Lucy and I talk about everything. I know she cares about me because she’s always there to listen.

Rose doesn’t really care if her friends are similar to or different from her.
My favourite saying is, “A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.” Both Lily and Lucy are true friends. We are always ready to help each other by lending a hand.
Language points
1. I don’t really care if my friends are similar to or different from me. 我不在乎是否我的朋友和我相似或與我不同。
be similar to意為“與……相似”
be different from意為“與……不同”
My schoolbag is similar to Lily’s. 我的包和Lily的很相似。
Mike is different from Tony. Mike和Tony不一樣。

本句為比較級表達最高級句式
其他常見比較級表達最高級的句式還有：
（1）比較級+than any other+單數名詞：*Tom runs faster than any other boy in his class.
（2）比較級+than the other+復數名詞：*Tom runs faster than the other boys in his class.
（3）比較級+than anything/anybody else：*Tom runs faster than anybody else.
（4）否定詞+比較級：*No one runs faster than Tom in his class.
3. When I feel sad or have a problem, she makes me laugh and feel better.
（1）前半句為when引導的時間狀語從句，意為“當……時”。

（2）make sb do sth意為“讓某人做某事”。

1. care可作名詞，意為“用心；專注；注意”。常用搭配有：take care of 照顧；照料
例：The children are old enough to take care of themselves.
孩子們足夠大了，能夠照顧他們自己了。
2. care也可作動詞，意為“關心；擔心；在乎”。常用搭配有：
（1）care about 關心；喜歡
She does not care about her husband at all. 她根本不關心她的丈夫。
（2）care for 照顧；照看；喜歡
As a parent, it is important to care for your child’s teeth. 作為家長，保養好孩子的牙齒很重要。
5. A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
真正的朋友會向你伸出援手，觸動你的心靈。
reach for有“伸手去拿；伸手去夠；努力爭取” 等意思，既可以表示實際的肢體動作去夠取物品，也可用于抽象意義上爭取目標等。
e.g. He reached for the glass of water on the table.
他伸手去拿桌上的那杯水。
6. We are always ready to help each other by lending a hand.
我們總是準備好通過伸出援助之手來互相幫助
（1）be ready to do sth意為“準備好/愿意做某事”。

（2）each other意為“互相，同義短語為one another。
Don’t fight with each other/one another.不要互相爭吵。
（3）“by+動詞-ing形式”意為“通過做某事”。

Growth area My answer
Physical I’ve grown 3 cm taller this year. I used to be a bit fat, but now I’ve been doing more exercise and have a thinner body.

Class Sharing
I found out that I can improve myself better than I thought. I understood that if I work hard, I can make progress in many ways.
