It is the most important festival for the Chinese people. It is also the time for family reunion. Many of those living away from their hometowns return home during this festival.

What's this festival
Spring Festival
In the eyes of Chinese people, it is the second-biggest festival after the Chinese New Year. It's a time when families come together to appreciate the full moon and eat mooncakes.
Mid-Autumn Festival
It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. It is a festival for the Chinese to commemorate（紀念） the ancient poet Qu Yuan. Children normally wear scented sachets（香包） stringed with five-color thread to ward off evil（辟邪）.
The Dragon Boat Festival
It is a time for the Chinese people to pay respect to their ancestors（祭拜祖先）. Because the weather is nice and warm during the period of this festival, people usually go out to appreciate the beautiful sceneries of spring or have a picnic with their families. In some places, people eat cold food（吃寒食） or a kind of sweet green rice ball called “Qing Tuan” during this festival.

Dear Sue,
My favorite Chinese festival is the Spring Festival. It is celebrated on the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar.
Before the festival, our houses have to be cleaned and we need to buy new clothes for a new year’s coming.
On the eve, my family goes to my grandparents’ home for a reunion dinner. Our family usually has jiaozi, fish, niangao and a great many dishes.
On the first day of our New Year, people wear their new clothes and visit family and friends. Children will receive red packets filled with “l(fā)ucky” money. That’s one of my favorite parts of this festival.
It’s my favorite festival because I enjoy spending time with my relatives. It makes me feel very happy!
