不定式作定語和結果狀語
一、不定式作定語
1．不定式作定語時與所修飾的詞之間往往存在動賓關系，如果不定式中的動詞是不及物動詞，或者不定式所修飾的名詞或代詞是不定式動作的地點、工具等，不定式后面需有相應的介詞。
I have many letters to write．
我有許多信要寫。
Do you have enough paper to write on
你有足夠的紙來寫字嗎？
She bought a bookshelf to put her books on．
她買了一個放書的書架。
2．不定式所修飾的名詞或代詞是不定式動作的承受者，且句子的主語是不定式動作的執行者時，該不定式需用主動形式；若句子的主語不是不定式動作的執行者，需用被動形式。
I am going to the shop because I have something to buy．
我打算去商店，因為我有一些東西要買。
I am going to the shop．Do you have something to be bought
我打算去商店。你有東西要買嗎？
3．若名詞前有序數詞、最高級或no，all，any，only等修飾，后面一般用不定式作定語。
They are always the first to bear hardships，but the last to enjoy comforts．
他們總是吃苦在前，享受在后。

4．被修飾的詞是抽象名詞時用不定式作定語，常見的抽象名詞：ability，chance，idea，fact，excuse，promise，answer，reply，attempt，belief，way，reason，moment，time等。

1．不定式作結果狀語時常與only連用。

He is wealthy enough to afford such a big house．
