Neil’s home is about 15 miles from London. It is at 28 Rose Street. It has an area of 160 square metres. His phone number is 0207 000 1111.
Neil loves taking pictures. He has about 1,000 pictures on his phone. They are very beautiful!
Read the text below and pay attention to the use of cardinal numbers (基數詞).
基數詞
0 = zero 11 = eleven
1 = one 12 = twelve
2 = two 13 = thirteen
3 = three 14 = fourteen
4 = four 15 = fifteen
5 = five 16 = sixteen
6 = six 17 = seventeen
7 = seven 18 = eighteen
8 = eight 19 = nineteen
9 = nine
10 = ten
注意： 13—19均以teen結尾。但thirteen, fifteen, eighteen略有不同。
構成
20 = twenty
30 = thirty
40 = forty
50 = fifty
60 = sixty
70 = seventy
80 = eighty
90 = ninety
100 = hundred
注意：20以上100以內的整十數，均以ty結尾；20以上的非整十數，書寫時要在十位和個位之間加連字符。但twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, eighty略有不同。

注意：在用阿拉伯數字記錄較大數目時，通常用逗號或空格將大數目分隔，從個位開始，三個一組。第一個逗號前的數字后加thousand，第二個逗號前的數字后加million，第三個逗號前的數字后加billion。當hundred, thousand, million, billion等前有具體數詞修飾時，必須用單數形式；但當它們表示不確切的數字時，應用復數形式，且其后要加of。
表示百位數的基數詞時，先說“幾百”，再加and，再加末尾兩位數或個位數。
千位數及以上 （千 = thousand）

讀大數字的“口訣”：從右向左三逗開，一逗千，二逗百萬，三逗就是十萬萬；三位分開用百讀，包準又快又清楚。

構成

1. 一般的序數詞的構成是在基數詞詞尾加上th，而 first
second、third較特殊。
2. 以ve結尾的基數詞，ve要變為f，再加th。如：
five → fifth twelve → twelfth
3. 以ty結尾的基數詞，y要變為ie，再加th。如：
twenty →twentieth thirty → thirtieth
4. 十位或百位的基數詞，將其個位上的基數詞變為序數詞。如：
fifty-five → fifty-fifth
two hundred and sixty-one → two hundred and sixty-first
5. 序數詞也可以用縮寫形式。如：fourth → 4th
twenty-third → 23rd
基變序，有規律，詞尾加上 th；
一、二、三，特殊記，
詞尾字母t，d，d (first, second, third)；
八去t，九去e (eighth, ninth)；
ve要用f替(fifth, twelfth)；
ty將y改成i，th前面有個e；
若是碰到幾十幾，前用基來后用序；
序有縮式莫忘記，比較就能心牢記。
基數詞變序數詞口訣
We use ordinal numbers to talk about the order of things and events. We use them to talk about grades, dates, __________, positions, etc.
floors
我們通常用序數詞來談論日期、樓層、名次、年級等。在表達日期時，用“月份 + 日期 + 年份”或“日期 + 月份 + 年份”，其中日期用序數詞表示，年份用基數詞表示，并需用逗號把年份與其前面的部分隔開。
用法
e.g. September 8th, 2025 或 8th September, 2025
China’s National Day is on the first of October.

注意:（英式）the eleventh floor =（美式）the twelfth floor
