The second part describes Michael Jordan’s spirit of persistence and his enthusiasm towards public welfare. Meanwhile, both parts satisfy the standards of the aforementioned definition of Living Legends, and the text is organized around the definition, which shows strong logic.

Pre-reading Prediction Students predict the source of the text (1) Where can you find the text To encourage critical thinking and make predictions based on the title and content.
Sharing Students share personal understanding of the definition of a living legend, then recommend a living legend to the editor. (2) Use some adj. to describe a living legend of sports: They must be athletes who are masters in their sports and also set good examples for others. To clarify the concept of a living legend and relate it to the qualities of athletes; to engage students in personal reflection and prepare them for the main reading by considering their own choices.
While-reading Analysis-Lang Ping Students read the text to analyze the structure, the athlete’s qualities and the rhetoric skill used in the text. To improve reading comprehension skills by analyzing text structure and identifying key qualities of athletes; to enhance students' literary appreciation by identifying rhetorical devices used in the texts.
Analysis-Michael Jordan Students read the text to analyze the structure, the athlete’s qualities and the rhetoric skill used in the text To develop students' ability to analyze text structure and extract main ideas; To reinforce the skill of text analysis and understanding through the example of another athlete.
