so后跟形容詞或副詞，表示程度，that后接從句表示這一程度千萬(wàn)的影響或結(jié)果。
so+形容詞 / 副詞+that從句
e.g. Mike walked so fast that I couldn’t follow him.
It is so expensive a restaurant that I have never been there.
I was so careless that I forgot to lock the door just now.
結(jié)果狀語(yǔ)從句
so修飾形容詞或副詞, such修飾名詞。
e.g. He was so weak that he could hardly stand up.
Everything happened so quickly that I hadn’t time to think.
He came to such a sudden stop that we almost hit him.
I’d put on such a lot of weight that I couldn’t get into my trousers.
such…that & so…that
such修飾的單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞前有形容詞時(shí)：
such + a(n) + 形容詞 +單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞 + that從句
e.g. She is such a lovely girl that all her classmates like her.
It’s such a tiny kitchen that I don’t have to do much to keep it clean.
so 的相關(guān)結(jié)構(gòu)為：
so + 形容詞 + a(n) +單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞 + that從句
e.g. She is so lovely a girl that all her classmates like her.
It’s so tiny a kitchen that I don’t have to do much to keep it clean.
如果名詞前有表示數(shù)量多少的詞，如 many, few, much, little等修飾時(shí)，用so不用such。
e.g. There were so many people in the park that we had to decide to return home.
公園里這么多人，我們只好決定回家。
I paid so little attention to him that I didn’t know what he was doing.
過(guò)去我對(duì)他關(guān)注太少，都不知他做什么的。
so & such口訣
名詞such, 形副so，多多少少也用so；
little屬特殊，“小”用such，“少”用so。
little：小的，修飾名詞，其前面仍須用such, 而不用so。
e.g. They are such little children that they can’t do anything.
這些孩子太小了，做不了什么事。
讓步狀語(yǔ)從句
although / though 盡管…… 引導(dǎo)讓步狀語(yǔ)從句
e.g. I can look after myself, although it won’t be easy for me.
She walked home by herself, although she knew that it was dangerous.
Though she’s almost 40, she still plans to compete.
Although / Though we all tried our best, we lost the game.
although / though與but通常不能同時(shí)使用。
e.g. I do not often make dinner, but I can cook.
