1. Krista, his friend, noticed him looking sad.
他的朋友Krista 注意到他看起來很傷心。
notice sb do sth注意到某人做了某事
notice sb doing sth 注意到某人正在做某事
注意： 此類感官動詞（watch觀看，see看見，hear聽見，feel 感覺）后接不帶to的不定式表示動作全過程，接現在分詞(doing)表示動作正在進行。
I noticed someone come in. 我注意到有人進來了。
He noticed some people making faces at him.他注意到有些人正在對他做鬼臉。

2. I just failed my English exam.
fail the exam 考試不及格；pass the exam考試過關
注意：還可以說fail to do sth沒能做某事，相當于can’t do sth, be+not able to do sth
I passed history but failed maths. 我歷史考試過了，但是數學沒及格。
He looks so different that they fail to recognize him.他看上去非常不一樣，他們都沒認出來。

3. There are 125 days until the final exam.期末考試前還有125天。
=There are 125 days left until the final exam.
用于肯定句時，直到……為止
Stay in bed until you feel better. 臥床休息，直到你感覺好一些。
用于否定句時，在……以前，常用于not …until…直到……才……
He can’t come until tomorrow.他要到明天才能來。
In Chinese families, people won’t start dinner until the elders take their seats.在中國家庭，老人們入座以后，人們才會開始吃飯。

excite 動詞，不用于進行時，使興奮，使激動
excitement 名詞，興奮，激動
