本語篇為音頻材料，介紹Lily 和她的同學們將要到動物園參觀。他們將要了解不同種類動物的外形、習性(棲息地、食物、能力)等基本動物常識。
通過Lily和同學們參觀動物園的介紹，讓大家了解到動物的不同種類及相關特征，感受動物的多樣性，引發愛護動物之情。
本語篇為記敘文，使用了一般現在時和一般將來時，按照時間順序，用第三人稱介紹了Lily和同學們參觀動物園的計劃安排，并介紹了每種動物的基本特征。段落結構相似，易于學生理解。
聽 力 語 篇
Lily and her classmates are going to see the animals in the zoo. First, they are going to see the sharks. Sharks are fish. They can swim in water. They are very big and like to eat small animals in the sea.
Then, they want to see the snakes and the butterflies. Snakes are reptiles. They are very long and cold. Butterflies are beautiful animals. They are insects. They have six legs and they can fly.
Next, they want to see some mammals, such as monkeys, pandas and tigers. Mammals give milk to their babies.
At last, they are going to see the penguins. Penguins are birds, but they cannot fly. They live on the ice. Look, how cute they are!

能夠使學生從動物的種類、外形、習性(棲息地、食物、能力)，個性特點等更加深入地了解動物，激發學生愛護動物的情感，引導學生樹立保護動物的意識。
本語篇是一個說明文，用一般現在時描述和介紹大象的特征。核心語言為“They are …”“They can …” “It（The elephant) is….” 。其中重點涉及了名詞的單復數以及系動詞和代詞的使用。大部分的語言知識都是舊知復現。
