Chinese New Year is one of the biggest festivals in China. We call it the Spring Festival. It is in late January or early February. The holiday is just one week, but there is so much to do!

At the Spring Festival, people always visit their family and have big meals. There are many kinds of lucky food: dumplings, rice cakes, spring rolls and yuanxiao. They are so good!

幸運(yùn)的食物有很多種: 餃子、年糕、春卷和元宵。
There are many kinds of lucky food: dumplings, rice cakes, spring rolls and yuanxiao.
年糕又稱“年年糕”,與“年年高”諧音，吃年糕寓意人們的工作和生活一年比一年高。
元宵寓意全家人團(tuán)團(tuán)圓圓，和睦幸福。
春卷寓意迎春納福、萬象更新、蓬勃長久，祈求家人平安健康；包春卷的過程從頭包到尾，我們稱之為有頭有尾，寓意吉祥。
“餃”與“交”諧音，有“更歲交子”之意。而且餃子外形如元寶，春節(jié)吃餃子寓意“招財進(jìn)寶”，象征財源如湯水滾滾而來。
