本單元的寫作任務是寫一篇個人簡介。個人簡介就是對個人的姓名、年齡、經歷、特長、愛好及其他情況所做的簡明扼要的書面介紹。
英語寫作中的個人簡介主要有兩種。一種是單純的自我介紹, 目的是告知對方一些個人信息;另一種個人簡介是作為應用文寫作的一部分,通過對個人的介紹來達到某種明確特定的目的,如申請某份工作,加入某個活動等,通常包括應聘信、申請信或個人介紹等,并且以第二種考查居多。對這種文章的寫作需從以下幾點入手:
1.介紹個人基本情況,主要包括姓名、年齡、愛好等;
2.陳述個人優勢(知識面、語言水平、特長愛好等);
3.提出寫信目的,表達期望。
