(2) be afraid of doing sth 表示“擔心會發生某事，害怕做某事”。
e.g. I was afraid of hurting her feelings. 我擔心害她的感情。
She is afraid of going out alone late at night. 她很怕深夜獨自外出。
(3) be afraid to do sth 表示“害怕做某事或不敢做某事”。
e.g. She was afraid to tell you. 她害怕告訴你。
(4) be afraid后可接that從句。
e.g. He is afraid that his father will be unhappy.他擔心他的爸爸會不高興。
