I started to feel sad because he is my best friend.

How do you get on well with your friends
As we all know, friends are very important for us, because we all have friends ,and we can not live without friends. Therefore, it is necessary for us to know how to get along well with our friends. And now, I want to give you some suggestions.
First, you should be honest with your friends. No one is willing to make friends with this person who always lies to others.
Second,you have to learn to forgive. No one can deny the fact that everyone will make mistakes, including your friends. Old sayings said: To err is human. So, you should learn how to forgive your friends' mistakes rather than criticize them.
Third, you also should learn to listen when your friends talk something.
In addition, your smiling face will help you make more friends.
Last but not least, getting well with your friends does not mean you always say yes to them. You can say no to them when you think they want you to do wrong things or you do not have time to do something.
