Find your own ways to learn English
As a good English learner, I’d like to share my learning experiences with other students.
When I became a middle school student, I had trouble in learning English. For example, I didn’t know how to memorize English words. And I found it difficult to understand what people said when they were talking fast. What’s worse, I read very slowly.
However, I regarded these problems as challenges. First of all, I wrote down the vocabulary lists on pieces of paper and often used them. What’s more, I often went to an English corner and talked to English speakers who came from the UK and the US. Now I can understand mostly what people talk about. Last but not least, reading is very important. I have kept reading for three years. It not only helps me increase my vocabulary but also opens up my eyes to the outside world.
Now I think the secret to language learning is to keep trying so that you can find your own ways to improve your English. I’m sure where there is a will, there is a way.

Dear Jim,
How is everything going I’m very glad to hear that you are coming to China this summer. I’d like to tell you there’s no need to worry that you may have trouble in speaking Chinese. Here’s some of my advice.
First, be brave and confident. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. In China, nobody will laugh at you when you make mistakes. Chinese people are really friendly and they will help you if you have any difficulty. Second, it’s better to speak a little slowly and clearly so that people can understand you. And they will talk to you slowly to make you understand them. Just be relaxed when you talk to them in Chinese. What’s more, you can use pictures or your body language when it’s difficult to express yourself. They will really work a lot.
