在向他人提出請求時，can 和 could 都能使用，could 的語氣相較于 can 更為委婉、禮貌 。常見句型為 “Can/Could you... ”，用來詢問對方是否能夠做某事

2. Can I stay out until eleven
(1) prep. 到….時候；直到…為止；相當于till，其后常跟時間點。
— 在肯定句中，謂語動詞常為延續性動詞，表示該動作一直持續到until所表示的時間為止；
— 在否定句中，句中謂語動詞為非延續性動詞，指until所表示的時間到了，該動作才發生。”not…until..” “直到…才…”
— They will stay here until next Monday.
— They doctor didn’t show up until 10:00 p.m..
(2) conj. 到….時候；直到…為止；后接時間狀語從句；
He stayed here until he finished his work.
