【訓練】閱讀下面短文，根據所給情節進行續寫，使之構成一個完整的故事。
I’m smaller than everyone else my age. When I walk in the halls at school, I have to squeeze in between the bigger kids to get by. At the playground, sometimes even little kids try to boss me around. Mia, my best friend, is so tall that when she walks, I have to jog to keep up with her.
I used to try to make myself taller whenever I could. My posture was perfect, straight as an arrow. I hung from the tree in our backyard to stretch out my arms and legs. I even ate all my vegetables. Every day I measured myself, but I was the same height every time. Frustrating!
“Don’t worry,” Mom always said. “Being small has its advantages.” Really I could never notice any.
One day, Mrs. Alvarez announced to the class that we’d be putting on a spring play. I practiced all the lines. But at the audition(試演), when I walked up to the stage, Mrs. Alvarez cried, “You’ll be perfect as the elf(小精靈)！You’re just the right size for the costume.” I even never got a chance to deliver the practiced lines. Back home I grumbled(咕噥) to mum that I was made an elf. But she bet I would be the best elf. To please her, I went to rehearsals(排練), though I only had two lines.
Mia got the lead role—a girl wandering through a magical fairy forest in search of her lost dog. In the last scene, she finds a box under a giant mushroom, and when she opens it, her dog jumps out. Mrs. Alvarez’s dog, Prince, played the dog role. She brought him to all the rehearsals, and when he wasn’t onstage, we got to play with him, but he seemed to like me best.
The night of the show, my first line came early, “Let’s ask the Fairy Queen!” Since my only other line was toward the end, I waited off stage, playing with Prince.

Earlier that day, Kevin was passing by the neighborhood park when he saw an ad outside Mrs. Murphy’s house. It said that the 88-year-old woman had lost $150 of her savings near their local grocery store, and she’d requested the finder to return the money to her as she really needed it. As Kevin stood there staring at the ad, an idea struck him. He hurried home to his piggy bank, Pigzy, and decided to help Mrs. Murphy. After he broke the piggy bank into pieces, he counted all the money, and there was $170 in total. He put the $20 bill in his study table drawer, the rest in his pocket, and ran to Mrs. Murphy’s house. When the older lady opened her door, she was surprised to see an eight-year-old in her doorway, a bright smile on his face.
“I got your MONEY!” said Kevin excitedly as he pulled out crumpled(弄皺的)dollar bills and coins from his piggy bank. “I counted it ... it’s $150.”
“Oh, honey, but did you find this outside the grocery store ” “No,I didn’t,” replied Kevin. “I had to break Pigzy, my piggy bank. I was saving this up for my skateboard, but that’s okay. I’m happy to help you.”

It was only at this point that Kevin’s mother learned about Kevin breaking his cherished Pigzy and giving the money to Mrs. Murphy. Mrs. Murphy then handed Kevin an envelope containing $200. When he opened it, Kevin found both crinkled bills and coins(照應細節描寫) totaling $200.
“Oh God, that’s a lot of money! We can’t keep this,” Kevin’s mom said. Mrs. Murphy said that the extra $50 was for him to buy a new piggy bank(照應物件的出現). However, Kevin only took the $150 that was rightfully his. He explained he did not need a new piggy bank. Mrs. Murphy told Kevin’s mother that he has a heart of gold(照應人物交代) and that she had done a great job raising him. After the guest left, Kevin’s mother was amazed at what Kevin did. Kevin explained, “Mom, because you told me that we should always help people in need.” He continued, “It makes me even happier to use the money to help someone than buy a skateboard(照應物件的出現).”
