新高考應用文寫作命題常用的思想就是高起點、低落點，把對價值觀的判斷巧妙地融合到日常生活的真實語境中。以下為新高考應用文新興命題熱點的例證與分析。
(一)滲透五育的活動類命題
(1)活動類命題一般涉及體育運動、藝術文化、勞動、學習、志愿服務等相關活動，常以報道、告知信、倡議書、投稿、通知、宣傳稿等形式命題，設題情境生動、真實，貼近考生生活。
(2)常見的寫作要點有活動過程、活動收獲和意義等，其中活動的收獲與意義旨在強調德智體美勞五育的實踐落實。
