【典例】(2021·全國甲卷)“I have 55.(matured) and I admit responsibility for my 56.(actions),” he said in the letter.“I come to you, 57 , to apologize for the damage I had 58.(indirectly) caused and to ask you to 59.(reconsider) my lifetime ban from the hotel.”57.A.hands in pockets B.nose in the airC.hat in hand D.feet on the ground√解題分析:四個備選短語在結構上非常相似,基本都是“名詞+介詞+名詞”的詞組,考生很容易因混淆而失分。根據(jù)空后“apologize for the damage”可推測,作者的態(tài)度是謙卑的。hands in pockets雙手插兜;nose in the air目中無人;hat in hand恭敬地(乞求或請求);feet on the ground腳踏實地。 易錯點二因詞匯理解障礙而錯選【典例】(2023·新課標Ⅱ卷)The flight was 53 ,and Tiffy was a great passenger. The next day,she 54.(flew) with Karen and made it back to George in Virginia within a few days.53.A.unnecessary B.unexpectedC.unavoidable D.uneventful√解題分析:根據(jù)“and Tiffy was a great passenger”可知,這次飛行一切都平安無事。 易錯點三因不明一詞多義或熟詞生義而錯選【典例1】(2021·浙江6月卷)My mother is 92.Unless I have to be out of town, each week I take my mother to do her 36.(shopping) and visit the doctor, providing 37 and transportation.37.A.reward B.medicineC.company D.shelter√解題分析:由語境和常識可知,此處指陪伴。 【典例2】(2021·全國乙卷)When she 53.(reached) one nurse, she tried to press a five-pound note into her hand.My colleague 54.(refused) to accept it,saying that we were all just 55.(doing) our job.The patient looked puzzled, and then 56.(replied):“Oh this isn’t for the 57.(care) I had.I take that as a 58 .No,this is for setting my hair yesterday.”58.A.goal B.givenC.push D.greeting√解題分析:given熟義為give的過去分詞,此處用作名詞,表示“(定當發(fā)生的)假設事實”。 易錯點四因抓不住文章主線而錯選【典例1】(2022·全國甲卷)You can tell a lot about a man by how he treats his dogs....The next week we 47.(walked) our dogs together. It was a hot day. When we paused to catch our 48.(breath),Steve got down on one knee. Was he proposing(求婚)?I liked him too,but so 49.(soon)?He poured water from a bottle into his hand and offered it to my dogs.50.(In that moment),I began to fall for him....A year later, much to my 58.(delight),this man produced a little box with a ring and proposed to me.He did not kneel(跪) down, nor did I 59.(need) him to.That’s only for giving 60 to the dogs that brought us together.60.A.toys B.a(chǎn)wardsC.food D.water√解題分析:文章首段提出了一個觀點:從一個人對待狗的態(tài)度,你就能判斷這個人。 【典例2】(2021·新課標Ⅰ卷)My life as a tax-paying employed person began in middle school, when, for three whole days,I worked in a baking factory. My best friend Betsy’s father was a manager at Hough Bakeries, which,at Easter time, 41 little bunny (兔子) cakes for all its 42 throughout Cleveland.41.A.sold B.orderedC.made D.reserved42.A.stores B.familiesC.schools D.citizens√√解題分析:根據(jù)第一段中的“I worked in a baking factory”可知,Hough Bakeries 是一家烘焙工廠,再根據(jù)常識可推知,此處表示烘焙工廠做兔子蛋糕,向它的門店供貨。 Passage 1Barre is a workout that includes movements from ballet and
