Predicate (謂語)
句子中說明主語的動作的部分是謂語。謂語一般在主語之后,謂語中最重要的是謂語動詞 (通常由實義動詞充當),它有時態,語態的變化,并受主語人稱和數的影響。
He plays basketball.
He can’t play basketball.
謂語是 謂語動詞是
(1) 實義動詞 (行為動詞):
具有明確的動作和意義。該類動詞又可以分為及物動詞和不及物動詞,不及物不接賓語,及物動詞接賓語。
I know you.
He comes.
(2) 助動詞
幫助謂語動詞構成不同的時態或語態,或構成疑問句,否定句和強調句。
常見助動詞有 am(is/are/was/were),do(does/did), have(has/had), will(would)。
1.I am playing games.
2.Do you know me
3.I do not like you.
4.The policeman will find you.
(3) 情態動詞
有一定詞義,表說話人對某一動作或狀態的態度和看法,表能力,允許,請求,必要性,可能性等。
常見情態動詞有can/could/may/might/should/must/would 等。

(2) 系動詞 (連系動詞) 起連接主語和表語作用,本身有一定詞義,它和實義動詞
一樣有時態變化,也受主語人稱和數的影響。
常見系動詞:
be (am/is/are/was/were);
感官:smell, sound, taste, look, seem, feel(摸起來), appear;
變得:become/get/grow/turn/fall/go(變得) ;
保持:remain (仍然是) ,keep/stay;

Subject (主語)

相當于句子的話題或主題,即要說明的人或物。
能用來做主語的有名詞,代詞,動名詞,動詞不定式,主語從句。

Object (賓語)
表謂語動詞動作的承受對象,即:動作的承受著。
英語中及物動詞和介詞需要帶賓語。

名詞,代詞,不定式,動名詞,從句。

Predicative (表語)
表語在句中用來說明主語的身份職業,性質特征, 狀態,方向或處所等。表語在系動詞之后。
1.I am a student.
2.This is my book. That is yours.
3.I am happy.
4.My dream is to be a doctor.
5.My job is teaching English.
6.The movie is interesting.
7.I am interested in the book.
8.That is why I want to stay here.
作表語的成分有:

Attributive (定語)
修飾名詞或代詞的詞,短語或句子叫定語。定語可前置也可后置。單個的單詞作定語時,習慣上放在被修飾詞之前作前置定語;短語或定語從句作定語時,習慣上作后置定語。
1.A beautiful girl comes.
2.I like the apple tree.
3.The boy in the room is my friend.
4.I go to the reading room.
5.I am the first student to come to the classroom.
6.A broken heart.
7.An interesting book.
8.I know a boy called Tom.
9.The car running in the playground is my uncle’s car.
10.I know the boy who broke the window yesterday.
可作定語的有:

Adverbial (狀語)
修飾動詞,形容詞,副詞或整個句子的詞,短語或從句(狀語從句)叫狀語。狀語表示時間,地點,目的,原因,結果,條件,讓步,程度,方式及伴隨等。
1.He plays the guitar well.
2.Luckily, he won the game.
3.I am very happy.
4.He works hard to make money.
5.I can’t go there.
6.In Wuhan, many people can’t go out.
7.Although I don’t have money, I still want to buy that book.
8.When I have time , I will go shopping with you.
9.I didn’t go to school because I was ill.
10. If it rains tomorrow, we will stay at home.
能作狀語的有:
副詞,介詞短語,分詞(短語),不定式,狀語從句。

Complement (補語)
英語中,一些及物動詞的賓語后要加上一個補語,對賓語作進一步的補充說明,意思才夠完整和明確。該補語被稱為賓補。
使役動詞 “make+賓語+賓補”
名詞/代詞
名詞/形容詞/省掉to的不定式/過去分詞

4.I spoke slowly to make myself understood.

Appositive (同位語)
跟在抽象名詞后面,對該抽象名詞作進一步解釋,說明的成分。
常用來作同位語的有:名詞,數詞,不定代詞 (all, each , both), 同位語從句。
