單元教材內容分析 What 本單元主題屬于“人與社會”范疇，涉及“世界主要國家的文化習俗與文化景觀、節假日與慶祝活動”。學生不僅能學會相關的語言知識，而且還能學習到中西方節日的文化和風俗習慣。Section A側重介紹我國的傳統節日，學生在學習時，應該重點掌握由that，if/whether引導的賓語從句來表達自己的態度和看法，并且能夠使用由how和what引導的感嘆句，學會與節日相關的詞語(包括節日的名稱、與節日相關的專屬用詞)以及各種描述性詞語(形容詞及其習慣表達法)等。Section B主要圍繞西方的兩個節日——Halloween和Christmas來展開，介紹西方國家的節日文化，側重節日的文化內涵，讓學生更深層次地理解西方文化。Self Check是對本單元的重點難點進行檢測鞏固，促進學生對語言點的掌握,是目標語言的輸出階段。
why 通過本單元的學習，學生能夠了解中外部分重要節日的由來和習俗，感受并領悟節日所蘊含的文化內涵，理解中西方文化異同，樹立跨文化交際意識及對文化多樣性的事物和活動持有開放心態。
how 本單元以聽力、閱讀、寫作多個多模態語篇闡述這一主題，將中外部分重要節日的由來和習俗等內容融入對主題意義的探究，通過聽，說，讀，寫訓練，能熟練談論學習方法掌，握本單元基本句式。

思維品質 教師指引學生發現問題、探究問題、解決問題。利用語篇分析技巧，分析故事 Full Moon，Full Feelings 中“Full Moon”的含義，探究狄更斯小說 A Christmas Carol 片段中“three spirits”的內涵，創造性地表達自己的觀點。在單元總結中，能夠從全書的角度批判性地分析本單元的主題。
文化意識 了解中外部分重要節日的由來和習俗，了解和認識中外文化并通過學習用英語介紹中國的傳統文化，進而提高跨文化交際意識，弘揚文化自信，樹立家國情懷；能夠了解西方重要節日的習俗，認識并理解不同文化，拓展視野。
單元學情分析 已有基礎 本單元以同學們熟悉的傳統節日開始，而且八年級已經學過一些相關內容，素材來源于學生生活，同學們就有表達的欲望和訴求。而教材中Section B又主要圍繞西方的兩個節日—Halloween和Christmas 展開，側重兩個節日的文化內涵，讓學生更深層次地理解西方文化。學生進入九年級，已經有了一定的英語基礎和英語學習能力，節日這一話題貼近生活，對于這一話題，同學們應該是非常感興趣。這也激發了學生的學習興趣，提高了他們的學習效率。
存在問題 有相當一部分學生英語學習基礎薄弱，在英語學習中出現這樣或那樣的困難，對英語學習失去信心和興趣。由that,if/whether引導的賓語從句和感嘆句是教學重點，也是難點，學生掌握該知識有一定的困難。
發展需求 1.學習使用與festivals這一話題相關的，描述中外節日的詞匯及句型。2.了解由that，if和whether引導的賓語從句和what和how引導的感嘆句，并學會運用這些語言結構談論有關節日的話題，表達自己對某些節日的觀點和看法。3.能正確理解本單元提供的文化背景及相關閱讀材料，了解中外各種節日習俗。在閱讀實踐活動中，學生的“inferring”閱讀策略運用的能力得到提升。4.能感受到交流的樂趣，逐步養成用英語主動與他人交流的習慣；通過本單元的學習實踐，能讓學生在生活中關注中外文化，加深對外國習俗的理解。
發展途徑 1.通過聽讀輸入和說寫輸出，訓練詞匯和句型，在小組對話和同桌對話中夯實所學。2.在課堂設計時應該通過設計活動和任務，激起學生的學習興趣，引導學生熱情參與，鼓勵學生參與語言實踐，滲透學法指導并鞏固或改善自己的學習方法，形成良好的學習習慣。

Period 2 閱讀課 本語篇介紹了中國人民慶祝中秋節的風俗習慣及傳統。并且還講述了中秋節背后“嫦娥奔月”的故事。 通過對本語篇的學習，學生可以進一步了解中秋節的相關知識，感受中華民族傳統文化中的浪漫，以及自古以來中國人民對幸福生活的期許，對家庭團圓和睦的美好愿景。這些都會幫助加深學生對中國傳統節日文化及情感的理解和認同，培養國家認同感和文化自信。 文體：說明文、圖片。結構： 這是一篇說明文，標題對仗工整，言簡意賅，具象的“月滿”與抽象的“情濃”相結合，讓學生能夠感受到語言及其背后的文化之美。本篇共包括3個段落。語言：運用了一系列的連詞和副詞來推進故事的發展，如：after, however, o...that...，主要使用一般過去時。段末的感嘆句是整個故事的結局與升華！

Period 4 聽說課 Jane向Wu Yu 介紹西方萬圣節的一些基本信息及節日風俗活動。 通過學習本對話，學生了解到有關西方萬圣節的一些基本知識，加深了學生對于西方文化的理解，學習如何進行跨文化溝通與交流 。 文體：對話。結構：聽對話，做筆記。分組練習對話。語言：本段話使用了多個形容詞去描述萬圣節，其次本段對話中出現了很多有關萬圣節元素及活動的短語。最后通過Wu Yu的感受及觀點鼓勵學生增強跨文化交流與溝通，對于文化多樣性的事物和活動持開放心態。
Period 5 閱讀課 主要通過介紹《圣誕頌歌》這本書的主要故事梗概凸顯圣誕節背后的文化內涵和核心價值。 通過概述A Christmas Carol 這本書的故事情節，突出圣誕節背后的文化內涵及核心價值觀，幫助學生感悟中外優秀文化的內涵，從而更深層次地理解西方文化，形成健康的審美情趣。 文體：記敘文，配圖。結構：本篇文章共有四段，采用“總分”的結構形式展開。第1段主要概述了圣誕節的表現元素。第2-4段主要講述這本書的故事梗概，在本部分故事主要按邏輯發展及時間順序展開，首先使用了一些描述性的單詞及短語。

單元教學反思
單元內的各語篇互相聯系，話題互相滲透，從聽說讀看寫五個方面進行了連貫的整體設計。深入研究單元的整體主題語境和各語篇語境，從what、why、how 三方面進行文本分析.過程性評價和結果性評價相結合，知識建構階段：視頻和圖片，語言內化階段：retell，知識遷移階段：基于所學組內評價。寫作輸出部分自我評價和他人評價相結合。深入平等關注每一個學生，課堂做到了學生主體，老師主導，讓學生在探索中完成對知識的掌握和吸收。課前，教師可以鼓勵學生進行課外閱讀了解西方節日文化，不僅可以拓展學生的視野，也可以節省課堂的時間，同時也便于學生理解聽力和閱讀中的內容，減輕因背景文化積累不足所帶來的學習壓力。學生要學習與這兩個節日相關的專屬文化詞匯，進一步強化本單元的重點句型結構；通過“聽說入手→突出閱讀→創寫語篇”的過程培養學生的綜合語言技能；策略方面，側重訓練學生對閱讀的深層理解，即除了了解語言的表層含義外，還應該培養學生的推斷能力，能讀懂字里行間的深層含義；情感方面，教育學生要懂得：關愛、同情及憐憫之心是人類社會的寶貴財富，應當繼承和弘揚，要以愛心回報社會。
