簡單句、并列句和復合句
（一）句子種類兩種分類法
1、按句子的用途可分四種：
1）陳述句（肯定、否定）：He is six years old; She didn’t hear of you before.
2）疑問句（一般、特殊、選擇、反意）：Do they like skating How old is he Is he six or seven years old Mary can swim, can’t she
3）祈使句：Be careful, boys; Don’t talk in class
4）感嘆句：How clever the boy is!
2、按句子的結構可分三種：
1）簡單句：
只有一個主語（或并列主語）和一個謂語
（或并列謂語）。
1. He often reads English in the morning.
2. Tom and Mike are American boys.
3. She likes drawing and often draws pictures for
the wall newspapers.
2) 并列句：由并列連詞（and, but, or等）或分號（；）把兩個或兩個以上的簡單句連在一起構成。
e.g. 1. You help him and he helps you.
2. He wants to go there but I don’t
3. Hurry up, or you will be late.
4. This house belongs to Mr.Smith；
It costs millions of dollars.
Exercise:
請用合適的并列連詞把每組句子合并為一個并列句。
He was tired, so he went to bed.
1. He was tired. He went to bed.
2. The child didn’t go out. He was afraid of the dog.
3. He made a promise. He didn’t keep it.
He made a promise, but He didn’t keep it.
The child didn’t go out, because he was afraid of the dog.
下列句子哪些是正確的？ 為什么？
1. I like English, my English is very good.
2. I like English and my English is very good.
3. As I like English, my English is very good.
4. I have a house, its windows are very big.
5. I have a house and its windows are very big.
5. I have a house, whose windows are very big.
3）復合句：含有一個或一個以上從句的句子
。復合句包含：名詞性從句、定語從句，
狀語從句等。
1. The foreign visitors took a lot of pictures
when they were at the Great Wall. (狀從）
2. This is the book that I want. （定從）
3. I think that he is right. (賓從）
In Adverbial Clauses狀從:
Before, after, when, while, as, since, until, till,
if, unless, once,in case,
in order that, so that, so…that, such…that
because, as, since,
although, though, even though/if, as if, as though,
where, whether….
In Attributive Clauses定從:
Which, that, who, whom, whose, when, where, why…
In Noun Clauses名從:
What , that, whether, if, how, which, when, why, where…
Subordinating Conjunctions從屬連詞
句子類型
1、簡單句：簡單句只有一個主語（或并列主語）和一個謂語動詞（或并列謂語動詞）（六大基本句型不帶修飾成分，或只帶了定語，狀語，同位語的詞或短語）。如：
I saw a student. /I saw a high student in the classroom.
My brother and I go to school at half past seven in the morning and come back home at seven in the evening.
2、并列句：并列句由并列連詞或分號“；”把兩個或兩個以上的簡單句連在一起構成（and, but, or,so）。如：
It is late , so we must hurry.
3、復合句：復合句中含有一個或一個以上的從句(以句子來代替一個成分）。如：If we want to keep fit , we must always remember that prevention is better than cure.
從以上并列句和復合句的例句來看，我們不難看出它們實際上是由幾個簡單句通過并列連詞或從屬連詞連接起來的。
特殊：We grow rice in the south of the States, but in the north where it is colder they grow wheat.(并列復合句）
判斷下列句子是簡單句、并列句還是復合句：
