一、教學內容分析
本課時包含一篇邁克爾介紹自己家鄉的說明文，讓學生了解邁克爾所居住社區的環境和設施。通過閱讀，完成思維導圖，讓學生學會總結歸納文本，培養學生提取文本中的重要信息的能力。利用所給的例文，積極思考并小組討論街區中應該有哪些基礎設施，這些基礎設施分別為我們提供了哪些服務。并根據討論內容，畫出自己的夢想街區，鼓勵學生在街區中做一個好鄰居，培養學生對自己所在街區的熱愛。
二、語篇分析
【What】 本課時包含一篇說明文。邁克爾介紹了自己村子的環境與生活。邁克爾住在高地村。他家附近有個池塘，冬天會結冰，他能和朋友在上面打曲棍球。社區還有個新的購物中心，離他家僅三個街區，里面有雜貨店、銀行、書店和電影院。他父母在雜貨店購物，有時他會一起去。他最喜歡社區里的書店，周末喜歡去那，那里安靜且椅子舒適，有時他能讀一下午書。鄰居們友善有禮貌，似乎每個人都在這里享受美好生活。 【Why】 本課時的說明文，讓讀者了解邁克爾所居住社區的環境和設施。傳遞一種舒適、和諧的社區生活感受。通過作者對書店的喜愛，鼓勵閱讀習慣的培養。同時幫助學生積累關于描述自己生活相關詞匯和句型，為他們講述自己的生活做鋪墊。 【How】 本課時的說明文對池塘、購物中心和書店等地點的介紹明確。傳達出作者對社區生活的滿意和喜愛。本課時語言簡潔生動，如：“It’s quiet and the chairs are very comfortable.”本語篇時態以一般現在時為主，如“There is...”“I like...”等，描述客觀、真實，為學生寫作提供了很好的參考。
三、學情分析
本節課的內容比較貼近學生生活，同學們理解起來也比較容易，但可能有些學生們對農村的生活不太了解，需要老師的講解。但本節課需要學生填寫思維導圖，對學生的總結歸納能力要求較高，教師可以適當指導。畫出理想街區并描述，是對學生的綜合能力的考查。
四、教學目標
通過本節課的學習，學生能夠： 通過閱讀Michael的街區情況，獲取他所住街區的信息，完成思維導圖。 根據所給提示積極思考并小組討論街區中應該有哪些基礎設施，它們分別為我們提供了哪些服務。 根據討論內容，畫出自己的夢想街區，并為同學們介紹一下。

六、教學活動設計
環節一：學生進入預設情景，跟隨 Michael一起去認識他的家。（2 mins） 預設情境，教師介紹新同學 Michael，跟隨 Michael一起去看看他的家。

環節二：圍繞文本內容展開閱讀訓練。（10 mins） 學生先根據圖片，預測內容。速讀，補充完整思維導圖。再讀，找出文本中的重點單詞短語，共同學習。

環節三：問題導入新的情境，學生思考如何做才能擁有美好社區，并與同伴口語練習。 （10 mins） 學生根據老師的問題，思考如何做。參考所給例子，發表自己的看法。就自己的看法與同伴展開討論。

環節設計意圖: 讓學生根據圖片畫出自己夢想的街區，考查了學生的綜合能力，旁邊給出提示降低了難度。引導學生對介紹街區的例文進行分析，梳理出文章的結構和重要表達方式，為學生寫作打好基礎。為了更好的照顧基礎較差的同學，列出了寫作框架，讓所有學生都可以跟著寫一寫，激發學生的寫作熱情。

It is really comfortable and convenient. There is a big park in front of my house, so we can take in fresh air every day. I always cycle(騎自行車) in the park with my friends. There is also a grocery store next to the park. I often go shopping with my parents there. When I want to relax, I can go to watch a film in the movie theatre nearby. What’s more, there is a parking lot and a bank near the theatre. If I just want to have a quiet time, the bookstore next to my house is a nice choice. That’s my favourite place.
