by是個很常用的介詞(有時也用作副詞),在初中英語中的其他用法有以下幾種:
(1) 意為“在……旁”、“靠近”。如:
The old man is fishing by the lake. 老人在湖邊釣魚。
(2) 意為“不遲于”、“到……時為止”。如:  
Jim usually goes home by seven in the afternoon.
吉姆通常在下午7點前回家。
(3) 表示方法、手段,可譯作“靠”、“用” 、“憑借”等。

“聽懂英語口語太難了”。
“too + 形容詞/副詞 + to + 動詞原形”結構,意為“太……而不能……”,該句型用于肯定句,但表示否定的意義。
Annie, I’m a little nervous. 安妮,我有點緊張。
a little 可直接修飾不可數名詞、形容詞副詞比較級。
a bit 修飾名詞時其后須加of,即a bit of,后接不可數名詞。
I don't like milk, so I just drank a little just now.

=so I just drank a bit of milk just now.
He is a little late today. 他今天有點晚了。
=He is a bit late today.
