【訓練】閱讀下面短文，根據所給情節進行續寫，使之構成一個完整的故事。
Seeing the United Parcel Truck pull into my driveway, I opened the garage door knowing that another package had arrived helping us with the Christmas Party in July. We were together for the homeless children at a local charity.
As I stood watching the driver get the packages from the back of the truck, I saw Madison, my three-year-old granddaughter, picking weeds from the lawn. “These are for my mommy and daddy,” she replied, as she held out a hand full of worthless little weeds. I just smiled and nodded my head as I looked at her tight little closed fist.
The UPT driver walked into the garage and sat the two packages down on the wooden bench. He and I stood talking about the numerous baseball gloves, baseball bats, helmets and baseballs sitting about the room. I told him I had been raised in a Jacksonville, Florida orphanage(孤兒院) and that during my entire childhood I never once owned anything of my own. I told him that these presents were for the children themselves and not for the orphanage.
After talking for a few minutes, the driver told me he had to leave. He waved and began walking back down the driveway. I turned around, locked garage door and began walking up onto the front porch. Just as I closed the gate, Madison came running up to where I was standing.
“My flowers, my flowers, they are my treasures.” she screamed aloud. I soon realized that I had locked her weeds in the garage.
“We’ll get them later,” I told her. I just did not want to walk back down the stairs and unlock the garage door for a bunch of worthless weeds. It just was not worth the effort.

第六句心理描寫+比喻：突然，我意識到那些雜草對于我的孫女來說就像是漂亮的花朵，如同那些棒球手套對于那些無家可歸的小孩來說像是金子一般。

Davey got up early in the morning and couldn’t wait to look out of the window. To his great disappointment, it was snowing heavily outside. Usually he would look forward to watching snow, but today he was not. It was Christmas Eve, and because of the snowstorm, Davey was worried that his cousin Josh would be stuck in the road and couldn’t make it to his home for Christmas from a neighboring city.
“We haven’t seen each other for half a year, and I have got a special present for him!” Davey said to himself. “How I wish he could get here!” Davey turned away from the window with a sigh (嘆氣).
In the afternoon, Davey and his parents drove to the town to buy a Christmas tree. When they finished shopping and were about to leave the store, Davey saw a crowd of people outside. He ran to get a closer look. It was Santa Claus (圣誕老人)! Children were waiting in line to express their wishes to him. “Can I get in line, please Dad ” asked Davey. “Well, we’re kind of in a hurry,” said his dad. “But since this is Santa Claus, I guess we can spare the time.”
Davey gave his dad a big thank-you hug and ran to the line. When it was finally his turn, Davey climbed up on Santa’s lap. Santa asked, “Well, what would you like for Christmas ”
“I wish my cousin Josh could get home for Christmas,” Davey said. “But the snow is so deep that Mom and Dad don’t think he can make it.” Having known from the weather forecast that it would clear up with the snow stopping in the late afternoon, Santa Claus said, “I don’t usually deliver people on Christmas Eve, but I’ll tell you what to do. Tonight, before you go to sleep, make your wish on the biggest, brightest star in the sky. That’s the Wishing Star and it might hear your heart.”

When it finally came to the bedtime, Davey rushed to the window. He was surprised and excited to find the snow had stopped falling. Overhead, a brilliant star shone brightly—the biggest and brightest in the sky, just as Santa Claus had described. Davey looked up at the star and whispered, “Wishing Star, please let my Christmas wish come true. I wish that Josh would come home tonight, so we can all be together for Christmas.” With a hopeful heart, he kissed his mom and dad goodnight and headed towards his bedroom.
Just then, they heard the doorbell. “Who could that be ” Davey’s dad wondered, moving quickly to open the door. To their joy and surprise, there stood Josh, covered in snow but with a wide grin on his face. Davey rushed into Josh’s arms, giving him the biggest hug he could manage. Josh had made it home after all. Davey’s Christmas wish had come true! Later that night, as Davey lay in bed, he glanced out of his window once more, gazing at the Wishing Star with gratitude. “Thank you, Wishing Star,” he whispered softly. “Merry Christmas!”
