是并列連詞，連接兩個對等的成分，如主語、謂語、賓語、表語、狀語等，還可連接兩個分句。其中also 可以省略。

是并列連詞，連接兩個對等的成分，如主語、謂語、賓語、表語、狀語等，還可連接兩個分句。其中also 可以省略。
1. not only …but also 后面所接的詞性必須對等。
She not only plays well, but (also) writes music.
He is learning not only English but (also) French.
2. not only …but also 連接兩個主語時，謂語動詞的單復數遵循“就近原則”。
Not only Zhou xia but also her parents are like watching movies.

3. not only …but also 連接兩個分句，當否定詞（not only, never, hardly）位于位于句首，前面一個分句要部分倒裝，but also 后的分句仍然是陳述語氣。
部分倒裝：將該句中的be動詞，情態動詞或助動詞放到主語之前。（有be動詞放，無be動詞，有情態動詞，放情態動詞，無be和情態，放助動詞。）
