In a world where bad news often seems to dominate the headlines, it's easy to overlook the small acts of kindness that can melt our heart. Last week, I was lucky enough to experience such an act of kindness in person.
It was a particularly challenging week. Problems just kept arising everywhere and I struggled to deal with them. By the end of the week, I felt like I was at the boiling point. So I made a trip across town to my favorite store to let off the steam（釋放壓力）.
To my disappointment, I found the parking lot unexpectedly packed. To make things worse, a small vehicle next to where I was going to park stopped on the middle line between two parking spots. I had to squeeze my car in. I felt really mad when I finally parked my car and then realized I had left my wallet in the office. Thankfully, I still had small amount of cash in my bag. Thinking that it would be enough, I went inside and went straight to the shelves. Having found the few things I needed, I got in one of the long lines to check out.
As I waited, my impatience grew. After a stressful week, all I wanted to do was go home, but I was stuck in a long line that seemed to crawl at a snail's pace（像蝸牛一樣緩慢爬行）. I felt increasingly stressed and kept shifting restlessly（不安地移動） while waiting for my turn.
At the moment, the old lady standing in front of me turned around and smiled at me. It seemed that she had sensed my anxiety. Awkwardly returning a smile, I kept waiting. After what seemed like an age, it was my turn, finally!

Last week, I was lucky enough to experience such an act of kindness in person, when I made a trip across town to my favorite store to let off the steam.
I finally parked my car but realized I had left my wallet. Thankfully, I still had a little cash in my bag. I found some items and got in line to check out.
As I waited, my impatience grew. I felt increasingly stressed.
The old lady standing in front of me turned around and smiled at me. It was my turn, finally!
