《二泉映月》是我國(guó)民族音樂(lè)的經(jīng)典，樂(lè)曲旋律委婉流暢、跌宕起伏、意境深邃——時(shí)而像對(duì)美好景色的回憶，時(shí)而又像對(duì)黑暗社會(huì)的控訴，具有強(qiáng)烈的藝術(shù)感染力。此曲本為二胡獨(dú)奏作品，如今已有多種民族樂(lè)器的改編獨(dú)奏版本以及交響樂(lè)隊(duì)的器樂(lè)合奏版本。

阿炳( 1893—1950）原名華彥鈞，我國(guó)知名民間藝人，《二泉映月》便是其最具代表性的作品。34至35歲時(shí)他雙目相繼失明，因此也有“瞎子阿炳”之稱。因生活所迫，阿炳流浪街頭，靠賣藝為生。1950年夏， 中央音樂(lè)學(xué)院楊蔭瀏、曹安和教授專程前往無(wú)錫為阿炳演奏錄音，此時(shí)阿炳已完全荒棄音樂(lè)達(dá)三年之久，經(jīng)過(guò)三天的練習(xí)，分兩次錄音，共留下《二泉映月》、《聽(tīng)松》、《寒春風(fēng)曲》三首二胡作品和《大浪淘沙》、《龍船》、《昭君出塞》三首琵琶作品。同年阿炳便悄然離世。

Last night one of my Chinese friends took me to a concert of Chinese folk music. The piece which was played on the erhu especially moved me. The music was strangely beautiful, but under the beauty I sensed a strong sadness and pain. The piece had a simple name, Erquan Yingyue ( Moon Reflected on Second Spring), but it was one of the most moving pieces of music that I have ever heard. The erhu sounded so sad that I almost cried along with it as I listend. Later I looked up the history of Erquan Yingyue , and I began to understand the sadness in the music.

The music was written by Abing, a folk musician who was born in the city of Wuxi in 1893. His mother died when he was very young. Abing’s father taught him to play many musical instruments, such as the drums, dizi and erhu, and by age 17, Abing was known for his musical ability. However, after his father died, Abing’s life grew worse. He was very poor. Not only that, he developed a serious illness and became blind. For several years, he had no home. He lived on the streets and played music to make money. Even after Abing got married and had a home again, he continued to sing and play on the streets. He performed in this way for many years.
