一般過去時(shí)的意義
(1)表示過去某個(gè)時(shí)間或某一段時(shí)間內(nèi)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作或存在的狀態(tài),常和表示過去的間狀語連用,如yesterday、last night、in 1990、two days ago等。例如:
He got up early yesterday.
I visited my grandparents last week.
(2)也可表示過去經(jīng)?;蚍磸?fù)發(fā)生的動(dòng)作,常和often、always等表示頻度的狀語用。例如:
He always went to work by bus last year.

We/You/They were + 其他 I was at home yesterday.
They were at school last week.
否定式 was not (wasn't) / were not (weren't) + 其他 She wasn't busy.

Were + we/you/they + 其他? Was he at home → Yes, he was./No, he wasn't.
Were you tired → Yes, we were./No, we weren't.
實(shí)義動(dòng)詞
(如 work) 肯定式 所有人稱:主語 + 動(dòng)詞過去式 + 其他 She worked in a hospital last year.
They studied English.
否定式 所有人稱:主語 + did not (didn't) + 動(dòng)詞原形 + 其他 I didn't work yesterday.
He didn't go to school.
疑問式 Did + 主語 + 動(dòng)詞原形 + 其他? Did you work → Yes, I did./No, I didn't.
Did they come → Yes, they did./No, they didn't.

動(dòng)詞過去式的構(gòu)成分為規(guī)則與不規(guī)則兩類。規(guī)則動(dòng)詞過去式一般有四種構(gòu)成方式其讀音規(guī)則一般是:清輔音后面讀作/t/,濁輔音和元音后面讀作/d/,/t/和/d/后面讀作/Id/。
