“When is one's birthday ”為詢問某人生日的句型，其答語通常為“One's birthday is on+日期.”或“It's on+日期.”。
Language points
when為疑問副詞，引導特殊疑問句，用來詢問時間。常用介詞in/on/at等構成的介詞短語進行回答。
不同點 相同點
when 詢問事情發生的年份、月份、日期等非鐘點性時間。 當詢問做某事的具體時間時， when與what time可以互換。
what time 詢問鐘表所表示的具體時間， 只能用時刻來回答。

英語的語調就是說話時調門的上升或下降、聲音的高亢或低沉。語調影響說話人所要表達的意圖，可以表達說話人的態度、感情和情緒。語調能賦予句子各種不同的含義和感彩:是親切還是冷淡，是客氣還是唐突，是斷言還是商榷，都可以從語調中聽出來。學習英語口語時，要特別注重語調，因為人們會使用不同的語調來表達話語的意思、態度、情感、情緒或言外之意等。有時語調錯誤比單詞發音不準所造成的后果更為嚴重。英語有兩種基本的語調，即降調和升調。同樣一句話，如果用了不同的語調，表達的意思可能大不相同。
例如: Yes. 是的。(表示肯定) Yes 是嗎 (或“嗯，什么事 ”)
