動詞過去式的一般變化是怎樣的呢？
在什么情況下，要用動詞的過去式呢？
動詞過去式一般在動詞詞尾加上-ed;在表達過去發生的事情時，要用動詞過去式

動詞詞尾加-ed后的讀音，你了解嗎？
1. 在濁輔音和元音后讀[d]：
cleaned /d/ played /d/
2. 在清輔音后讀[t]：
washed /t/ watched /t/
3. 在 [t] 、[d]音后讀[id]：
visited /id/ needed /id/

一般過去時態 The Simple Past Tense
一般過去時：表示過去某個時間發生的動作或存在的狀態，常和表示過去的時間狀語連用，如：yesterday, last weekend, last Sunday等。
eg. I visited my grandparents last weekend.

構成規則 原形 過去式
1. 一般在動詞原形末尾加-ed look play looked
played
2. 詞尾為不發音的e，加-d live hope lived
hoped
3. 末尾只有一個輔音字母的重讀閉音節詞，先雙寫這個輔音字母，再加-ed stop plan stopped
planned
4. 結尾是“輔音字母+y”的動詞，變y為i，再加-ed study worry studied
worried
當然過去式還有很多是特殊變化，如：do-did, am/is-was
