As a mountain climber,Aron is used to taking risks.

【拓展】used to do sth.意為“過去常常做某事”，指過去經(jīng)常性的動作或存在的狀態(tài)，現(xiàn)在已不再那樣，側(cè)重與現(xiàn)在的比較，to后接動詞原形。
②take risks意為“冒險”,相當(dāng)于take a risk,在此處risk作名詞,意為“危險;風(fēng)險”。
We do not expect untrained people to take risks.
我們不主張未受過培訓(xùn)的人員去冒險。
【拓展】risk還可作及物動詞,意為“冒險”,其后跟名詞、代詞或動詞-ing形式作賓語。
He shouldn't risk losing his life.他不應(yīng)該冒丟掉生命的危險。

run out 意為“用盡;耗盡”，主語通常為時間、食物、金錢等。

2003年5月美國登山愛好者阿倫·拉斯頓在猶他州一座峽谷攀巖時，因右臂被石頭壓住被困5天5夜。
為了逃生，他強(qiáng)忍劇痛，花了一個多小時的時間，先后將橈骨和尺骨折斷，用自己的運(yùn)動短褲當(dāng)作臨時止血帶，然后用小刀從肘部將右前臂硬生生切斷。
從巖石下脫身后，為了與失血搶時間，他以超人的毅力爬過狹窄和風(fēng)力強(qiáng)勁的峽谷，沿繩下到60英尺深的谷底，再步行5英里后與營救人員相遇，終于成功生還。
