2. V-ing作主語的復合結構

Structures:
1. 形容詞性物主代詞 + V-ing
2. 名詞所有格 + V-ing
–ing form used as subject
1）It 作形式主語句型中,V-ing后置作真正的主語。
It's no use crying over split milk.
（覆水難收。）
It was a waste of time watching the movie.
It is pleasant working with you.
3. V-ing作主語的特殊用法
no use
no good
no fun
a shame
It's + a waste of time/money + doing sth.
useless
nice/good/dangerous
hardly/scarcely worth
worthwhile
但這種句子形式有一定的限制，它只針對某些形容詞或少數名詞。常見結構如下：
2）There be 結構中V-ing作主語
There is no sense in doing something like this.
There is no use being angry.
3. V-ing作主語的特殊用法
There is no use/good/fun/harm... (in) doing sth.
做...是沒有用/沒有好處/沒有樂趣/無害的...
There is no point/sense in doing sth.
做...是沒有意義的。
Structure:

所以，如果我還想繼續爬山的話, 和 他們有效地溝通還是很必要的。

Climbing mountains is one of my favourite sports. Enjoying the beautiful scenery at the top of the mountain makes me relaxed.
However, climbing mountains is just my hobby but my family's. Not having the support from my family made me a little sad.
In particular , my dad always said to me, " Not having been trained professionally to climb mountains is very dangerous!"
Therefore, communicating with them effectively is necessary if I want to climb mountains again.
