2. 總結文章觀點，提取論據信息；
3. 能夠對文章中所提出的觀點進行深入思考并表達。

2. 總 結 文 章 觀點，提取論 據信息 Step 2 T shows three pictures in the text and asks Ss to predict what will be talked about in the passage. 引導學生在 閱讀前有意 識 地 運 用 “看 ”的技 能，預測文 章內容。 學生能夠通過圖 片對文章內容作 出初步預測。 IW/CW 4 ’
Step 3 T asks each student to read the first paragraph and tell how to acquire knowledge according to the writer. Then share their answers with the whole class. 提取第一段 的信息，了 解知識獲取 的步驟。 學生能夠談論作 者關于獲取知識 的觀點。 IW 3 ’
Step 4 T asks Ss to read Paragraph 2 &3 and then discuss the following questions: 1. Does the writer believe that the Baconian Method of scientific thought is a good way to gain knowledge 2. How do you describe the people of the church during Galileo’s time 3. Why did people choose to believe views that were almost 2,000 years ago 提取第二段 和第三段的 主要信息， 并能夠通過 文章所用詞 匯推測作者 態度。 學生能夠回答提 出的問題，對文章 大意和作者態度 有大致的了解。 IW/GW 7 ’
Step 5 Ss read the rest of the passage. T invites Ss to think, “Is it possible for us to say ‘We know it all’ Give your reasons.” Ss discusses in groups, share their opinions and give their reasons within the whole class. 提取文章信 息并進行較 為深入的思 考。 學生能夠有理有 據地回答問題。 IW/GW 9 ’
Step 6 T invites Ss to read the passage again and divides the whole class into two groups to finish the following task: Imagine one group were in the position of Aristotle, the other group were in the position of Galileo, and how to defend your own opinions 整合文章中 亞里士多德 和伽利略的 立 場 和 理 由，結合背 景知識表達 自 己 的 觀 點。 學生能夠在了解 不同人物立場的 基礎上提取與整 合支撐信息并進 行表達。 IW/GW 8 ’
