祈使句 (Imperative sentences)
一、含義
祈使句一般用來表示請求、命令、勸說、號召、警告等。在祈使句中,通常省略主語you,其肯定形式常以動詞原形開頭,否定形式是在動詞原形前加don’t。祈使句句尾用句號或感嘆號,讀時用降調。為表示禮貌,可以在句首或句末加上please。句末用please時,前面通常加逗號。

1. Do型祈使句
肯定句:實義動詞原形(+賓語)(+其他).

一、含義
情態動詞用于表達說話人的態度、意愿、推測、建議、能力、義務等。沒有人稱和數的變化;
后面必須跟動詞原形來構成完整的謂語。
情態動詞can的用法

can可表示能力、許可、請求等。其否定形式為can’t/cannot。
1.表示能力,意為“能,會”。
2.表示許可,意為“可以”。
3.表示請求,意為“可以”。
情態動詞have to和must的用法
No,we can’t. We must keep them in our lockers. No,we can’t eat in class. We have to eat in the dining hall.
have to
①常強調客觀需要,多譯為“不得不”;
②有時態、人稱和數的變化,其一般現在時的第三人稱單數形式為has to,過去式為had to。have to的否定形式為don’t have to,表示“不必”。
must
①常表示說話人的主觀看法,多譯為“必須”;
②沒有時態、人稱和數的變化。must的否定形式為mustn’t,表示“禁止,不準”。

have to表示不得不。常強調客觀需要。其否定形式為don’t have to。
