In ancient China, a year was divided into 24 parts. Each part started with a solar term.

Because the year is divided into 24 parts, based on where the sun is in the sky.
(2) Why are the 24 solar terms very useful in daily life
Because they help farmers decide when to plant their crops.

They eat spring rolls and spring pancakes.

Read the article again. Circle the new words and guess the meaning according to the context.

Difficult sentence
Line 2: In fact, the year is divided into 24 parts, based on where the sun is in the sky.
實(shí)際上，一年的時(shí)間依據(jù)太陽(yáng)在天空中的位置，被劃分為24個(gè)部分。
in fact意為“事實(shí)上，實(shí)際上”；be divided into意為“被劃分為”；be based on意為“基于”。
