any tools. As sunlight cast an orange glow over its brown sur-

For Ma Yifei, the violin performance of the Beijing 2022
Olympic theme song, Snowflake, was her best present for Para-
lympians (殘奧會運動員) all over the world. Even though
snowflakes are related to winter, she let others feel warmth,
hope and light through her performance.
Ma went blind at the age of two because of an illness. She be-
came interested in music when she was young. She started to
learn to play the piano at five and the violin at nine, experienc-
ing the “colorful” music through sound and emotion.
Ma's mother Ha Chunyan, a former music teacher in a primary
school, helped her memorize the musical score (樂譜) before
she played the piano. Ma could not see the keys and always
played the wrong notes. It took her thousands of tries to play a
piece correctly.
Learning the violin was more challenging. Ma needed to feel
the teacher's hands, arms and back to learn the movements, and
listen to the sound of the strings (弦) over and over again to feel
the muscles (肌肉) herself.
“After three years of learning, she still could not make any
sound except terrible noises,” said Ha, who advised her
daughter to give up the violin. But Ma said, “As I've been
practicing so long, it's hard to give up. I believe I will play bet-
ter if I persist in practicing.”
In 2018, Ma got a chance to follow Sheng Yuan and Cao
Yuhan, famous musicians from the Central Conservatory of
Music, to study music in Beijing. She left her home in Ningxia
to follow her musical dream, though she knew there would be
more challenges ahead.

stage today.”

One day it was raining heavily. I was late for a meeting in a
nearby city that I knew only by GPS, and my phone died. I
couldn't find out how to get there or how to reach my friends.
I stopped at a McDonald's and walked up to a mother and her
daughter. “I'm sorry,” I said. “Do you mind if I make a call
with your phone I need to let my friends know I’m lost.” The
mother handed me her phone and then told me I was lucky to
make the last call—she was about to turn it off because she
didn’t have enough money to pay her phone bill.
The young girl and the mother were holding each other and
talking together as I made the call. I got in touch with my friends. They, thankfully, knew where I was and told me how to get to
them.
As I was leaving, I reached into my wallet. Luckily, there was a
$20 bill. I put it into the mother's hand and then turned to leave
quickly. As I walked through the doors, I heard the mother cry-
ing. Her daughter called after me and said, “You have no idea
how you just helped us.”
I still think back to that day even now. They had no idea how
much they helped me, yet I was the one being thanked. It's fun-

題目①
A Special Experience
Last year, I had a very special experience. My classmates and I
went to a farm in a university to learn something about agricul-
ture.
As soon as I arrived there, I felt very excited that I would spend
six days living together with some of my classmates. Thus, we
could share our “secrets” lying in bed at night. The most
special experience was digging peanuts in the field. In the be-
ginning, I used the tool. However, I soon found it much easier
to use my hands. Though my hands hurt a lot, the peanuts
couldn't have tasted better.
As a kid was born and raised in the big city, I seldom have the
opportunity to do real farm work. Thanks to the agricultural
education, I had this very special experience. I've learnt how
tiring and difficult farm work is and I promise I will finish all the
food in my bowl.
題目②
My Most Unforgettable Experience
I had an unforgettable experience.
On a rainy day, I suddenly fell down in the school playground
and hurt my leg. I had to stay in hospital for a month. I felt upset
and I was worried about my study. Luckily, my classmate Li
Hua came to see me in the hospital as soon as she heard I was
injured. She decided to help me with my study. From then on,
she came to teach me every weekend. I was so moved. I didn't
fall behind other classmates with Li Hua's help. I thanked her a
lot.
Now I know that true friends will always help you. When our
friends are in trouble, we should help them.(共22張PPT)

China's 15-year-old Chen Ye won gold in the Men's Park Final
of Skateboarding at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on
Sept. 25.
Chen started getting into this sport in 2016. “I remember one

能力提升全練
I decided to give it a try,” Chen said to China Youth Daily.
Although it was really challenging (挑戰性的) to stay on the
board at first, Chen found it very interesting. “Every time I did
some difficult moves, I felt the joy of making progress,” said
Chen. Slowly, Chen needed a better skate park for training. To
meet this need, his father decided to make a skate bowl himself.
“He would work on it late into the night, sometimes until
three or four in the morning,” said Chen. “I'm really thankful
for my father's support.”
As a junior high school student, Chen needed to find a balance
between his schoolwork and skateboarding. His only “privi-
lege (特權)” was not having to take P.E. classes, so he could
use that time to do his schoolwork. After school, he needed to
practice skateboarding for hours in his own skate bowl. He
trained in the morning, studied in the afternoon and sometimes
had to have special classes with the teachers' help. While get-
ting ready for the match this year, Chen even disagreed with his
father over his study plan. He wanted to train for more hours at
night to avoid influencing daytime classes.
Looking back on his seven years of learning to skate, Chen said
this experience made him stronger and braver to do something
he truly loved.

(人與自我·學校生活) (2024北京房山區中考一模)
When I was in my first year of high school, I had a terrible time
when every area of my life was a disaster. I felt so hopeless
and lonely that I thought everything was impossible.
On one such day, I was walking from class across the school to
catch the school bus home with my head down, fighting tears of
total hopelessness, when a young man came down the sidewalk
toward me. Though I had never seen him before, I did not want
him to see that I was in such low spirits, so I turned my head
away and hoped to hurry past him. I thought he'd walk on by,
but he moved until he was directly in front of me, waited until I
looked up, and then smiled.
Looking into my eyes, this stranger spoke in a quiet voice,
“Whatever is wrong will pass. You're going to be OK. Just
hang on.” He then smiled again and walked away.
I couldn't explain the effect of that man's unexpected kindness
and caring! He gave me the one thing that I'd lost completely—
hope. I looked for him in our school to thank him, but never
saw him again.
That was thirty years ago. And I've never forgotten that mo-
ment. Over the years, whenever I see someone who is in trou-
ble, I will always think of that young man and try to give a
flash of hope in the dark wherever I can. I carry things for peo-
ple when they are too heavy for them, sit with naughty babies
in the waiting room while their mothers are busy, or talk to
tired couples at the checkout line. It could be anything. If you
keep your head up, your heart will show you the place that
needs hope.
11.Where did the writer meet the young man
A.In the school.
B.In the library.
C.In the classroom.

A.The accident on the school bus.
B.The young man's smile and words.
C.Talking to tired couples at the checkout line.
D.Sitting with naughty babies in the waiting room.

13.What can we know from the passage
A.The writer was thankful to meet the young man.
B.The writer made good friends with the young man.

school.
D.The young man always tried his best to help the people in
trouble.

Hu Yunjia, nicknamed Niuniu, is the daughter of the foot spa
owner Hu Yong. The father lost his hearing and speech due to a
severe fever in his childhood, making it difficult for him to get
a permanent job. After finishing training in the foot spa and

in 2019. Since then, Peng Feng, the mother, who is also deaf, has worked together with her husband at the shop.
After Niuniu finishes school, she helps her parents at the shop
as a sign language translator.
“Madam, how is your day and what help do you need ”
“Sir, my dad asked you to take this ointment (軟膏) back
home and apply it.” Niuniu delivers her father's messages to
the customers in her sweet childish voice and with rich body
language, frequently amusing the guests.
“She is always cheerful, upbeat and outgoing,” said the cus-
tomers and the school teachers.
