When it comes to Chinese tea, we may be impressed by its long history. The origin of Chinese tea can be traced to(追溯到) the ancient tribal chief（部落酋長） Shen Nung in 2737 BC. Chinese tea flourished（興盛） in the Tang dynasty（朝代） and Song dynasty. And now it has developed into the particular Chinese tea culture-the tea ceremony（茶道）.
There are many kinds of Chinese tea, such as green tea, black tea, oolong tea, yellow tea, white tea and dark tea. There are also some famous tea in China including West Lake Longjing tea, Dongting biluochun tea, Huangshan maofeng tea, Liuan guapian tea and Xinyang maojian tea.
There are also many benefits of the tea in China. If you are sleepy, drinking a cup of tea can lift your spirit at once. When you are overweight, drinking tea regularly will have a good effect of losing weight. And there are many kinds of vitamins in the tea leaves, which are good for our body health.
Tea has had a major influence on the development of Chinese culture. Chinese traditional culture is closely connected with Chinese tea. In literature（文學）, arts, and philosophy(哲學), tea is often associated. Tea is connected closely with Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism（儒釋道）. Roughly, since Tang Dynasty, drinking tea is a must for self-cultivation（自我修行）. Chinese Chan (or Japanese Zen) philosophy is also linked with drinking tea.
Tea plays an important role in Chinese people’s social and emotional lives. Tea is always made and offered to a guest or friend immediately upon that person’s entering a Chinese home. Serving a cup of tea to the guest is a common practice in China. “To invite the guest to stay longer with a cup of tea” demonstrates（詮釋） hospitality （好客）and traditional etiquette（禮儀）. Serving tea is more than a matter of mere politeness; it is a symbol of togetherness, a sharing of something enjoyable and a way of showing respect to visitors.
