感恩節(Thanksgiving Day) 的由來
美國人民獨創的一個古老節日，也是美國人合家歡聚的節日。 初時感恩節沒有固定日期，由美國各州臨時決定。直到美國獨立后的1863年，林肯總統宣布感恩節為全國性節日 。1941年，美國國會正式將每年11月第四個星期四定為"感恩節"。感恩節假期一般會從星期四持續到星期天。
慶祝感恩節
每逢感恩節這一天，美國舉國上下熱鬧非常，基督徒按照習俗前往教堂做感恩祈禱，城市鄉鎮到處都有化裝游行、戲劇表演或體育比賽等。分別了一年的親人們也會從天南海北歸來，一家人團圓，品嘗以“火雞”為主的感恩節美食。
