一、be supposed to do 的用法
1. 意為“應該；被期望……”。主語是人時，意為“應該；被期望……”，相當于情態(tài)動詞should;主語是物時，意為“本應；本該”，指“某事本應該發(fā)生而沒有發(fā)生”。
e.g. You are supposed to shake hands when you meet someone for the first time in China.在中國與某人第一次見面時，你應該握手。
The plane was supposed to arrive at 6:00. 飛機本應該6點鐘到。

2. 其否定結(jié)構(gòu)為be not supposed to，意為“不被許可；不應該”。
e.g. You are not supposed to smoke on the bus.你不應該在公共汽車上吸煙。
3.be supposed to have done sth.意為“本應做某事而實際上沒做”。
e.g. You are supposed to have finished the work. 你們本應完成這項工作的。
二、be expected to do 的用法
be expected to do 表示一種可能性，意為“被期許（預期）會做某事”。
e.g. He is expected to do well in the test. 他有望在考試中取得好成績。
She is expected to arrive at noon. 預期她將會在中午抵達。
三、“It is +adj.+to do sth.” 的用法
意為“做某事是……的”。it 作形式主語，真正的主語是動詞不定式。
e.g. It is necessary to learn English well. 學好英語是必須的。

abroad 為副詞，意為“在國外；到國外”。
e.g. She often goes abroad on business. 她經(jīng)常因公出國。

2. clean off 意為“把……擦掉”（教材第76頁）
clean off 為“動詞+副詞”型短語，人稱代詞作賓語時，只能放在兩詞中間，名詞作賓語時，可放在兩詞中間，也可放在副詞之后。
e.g. I wanted to clean off these black marks. = I wanted to clean these black marks off. 我想把這些黑點擦掉。

3. In many eastern European countries, you are expected to/are supposed to take off your gloves before shaking hands. 在許多東歐國家，握手前你應該摘下手套。（教材第76頁）
take off 此處意為“脫下（衣服）”，為“動詞+副詞”型短語。當人稱代詞作賓語時，須置于兩詞之間；當名詞作賓語時，置于兩詞之間或副詞后面都可以。其反義短語為 put on，意為“穿上”。
e.g. Put on your clothes. Don’t take them off. 把衣服穿上，別把它們脫下來。
It’s warm in the room. You can take your coat off / take off your coat. 房間
里很暖和。你可以脫下外套。
【拓展】take off 還可譯為“（飛機等）起飛”。
e.g. The plane will take off soon. 飛機馬上就要起飛了。
