一、表示不同時態(tài)的推測的結(jié)構(gòu)
“情態(tài)動詞+do sth.”表示對現(xiàn)在發(fā)生的事情的推測;“情態(tài)動詞+be doing sth.”表示對正在發(fā)生的事情的推測;“情態(tài)動詞+have done sth.”表示對過去或已完成的事情的推測。
e.g. He may have watched TV last night. 昨晚他可能看電視了。(表示對過去的推測)

二、肯定推測
1. must 用于肯定句,表示較有把握的推測,意為“準是,一定”,后面接動詞原形,表示對現(xiàn)在的推測。
e.g. You must be exhausted. 你一定筋疲力盡了。
2. may 用在肯定句中,表示對現(xiàn)在把握不大的推測,意為“也許,可能”。
e.g. It may be a new invention. 它可能是一個新發(fā)明。
3. could, might 也可表示推測,常用于過去時中,但在某些場合下,為了使語氣更緩和、更委婉,常用could/might代替can, may。
e.g. They saw something in the sky last night. It could/might be a UFO.

三、否定推測
1. 表否定推測時,can’t/couldn’t 語氣最強,指“不可能”,帶有驚異、懷疑的感彩。

2. 語氣不很肯定時,常用 may not 或 might not 表否定推測,意為“可能不,也許不”。
